PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
You know what actual incline looks like - LA Noire remastered with modern graphics, and with at least some of the missing functioanlity added.
LA Noire managed to be utterly amazing and brain-ossifyingly boring at the same time. A strange game.
Interrogation gameplay, the quality of dialogue and acting was fun. Popping 100+ moles in a standard Mafia 1 mission was indeed boring.

The major letdown for me was how a mission would start in-character and realistic and then devolve to a shooting gallery. It feels like listening to Big Bad Voodo Daddy trying to imitate qualuty Big Band music.

Ooookay, you're actually comparing a detective walking simulator with a 3rd person shooter.

:backawayslowly:
I never compared anything. Just explained to you what incline looks like.

Also, take your pick - Mafia is a great story experience, or Mafia is a 3rd person shooter.

Yea thats fucking strange, I tried playing it a couple times and thought it was good but could never stick with it...
Maybe because you realize that rare moments of greatness can't hide the fact that 90% of the game feels like filler and each case feels like copy + paste + change names and a few elements.

Probly, shame tho as they fucking nailed the atmosphere.

What we should expect from modern writing on this remake? Tommy become trans mid game and marry Mr Salieri? Will they then all leave the lead to a bunch of women without tits?

Focus groups have shown that the industry is lacking in post trans, urban crime drama simulators with a strong lead ovarian chieftain with Italian ancestry. Let's see what franchises we have to work with.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
Hangar 13 is half Czech, half Californian. If the former half is responsible for the rewrites I think we'll be fine. If the latter then people who thought Outer Worlds is a masterpiece will love this too.

Mafia: Bioshock 3 Edition

It also looks like a promotional static render with lots of post processing, not an in-game realtime rendered screenshot, doubt the final product looks anything like this, but we'll see.

Best thing about Mafia was the driving. Loved the realistic, slow paced driving model. It was vreath of fresh air after playing GTA3 (couldnt go back to GTA after Mafia).

I quite enjoy the action pieces in Mafia. Lot of crouching and taking precautions while bullets are flying and getting hit was incredibly damaging yet almost always possible to avoid. Nowadays it's press X to hug the wall. 100% degenerate gameplay. That functionality works if the game is designed around it, but something like Mafia II very clearly was not. Mafia 1 would decline with its inclusion. I don't know how anyone can stand that 'cover shooter' bullshit if the game isn't built for it from the ground up.

Bullshots looks pretty good.

I forgot I wanted a remake of this, nice surprise. In worst case scenario we have nothing to lose so bring it on.

A couple of new leaks - the M1 remake WILL have a cover system, probably the same from M3. It's built on the rehauled M3 engine. Apparently it uses some sort of advanced ray-tracing technology, that's why the screenshots look so good. All the cutscenes and VOs are brand new, with new actors. Part of the game is rewritten and there's new content.

So it's basically a Mafia 1 inspired brand new game, kindda like the nuFF7 (probably not as dramatically different but still).

You can tell it's not in game because it doesn't have a piss filter over everything. This is not how games are made in current year.

Wait, wasn't this trilogy shit?
We can argue whether M2 and 3 are shit or not, but how dare you say this when M1 is one of the best games ever made!
