Do you keep Camellia fighting with Rapier + Buckler? What armor type do you use for her? Light or Medium?

Chains of Comradery - a AC9 medium armour with +4 damage from outflanking and 4 dex bonus seems tailor made for Cam.

Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire
From what I've seen so far, I doubt the itemization here comes anywhere near Deadfire level, particularly in relation to gameplay and playstyle impact.
Lmao I knew it

And I knew you’d be jumping to your usual inane conclusions. No one confirms his priors - especially if they’re wrong - harder than Yosharian.

Will enjoy a good laugh with Haplo at this take in a few months. Yosharian will deny heaven and earth to stick to whatever popguns he started with.

I think I’ll avoid the spoilers and let you find them for yourselves. Should be even more fun that way.

Note I did not mean itemization is bad. It seems better then in Kingmaker and solid overall, with good variety too. Glad to hear huge stat boosters are not growing on trees this time around.

But Deadfire is a crazy high bar in relation to itemization. It makes or breaks builds, changes playstyles. Not sure if any game can beat it. For sure I haven't played anything with itemization even remotely as good (and no, BG doesn't compare, its long left in the dust).

Meredoth What summons did you have success with when you went necromancer?

Is animate dead good if you can use meta magic and extend it on them? I don’t know we’ll they would work against potential demons encounters and demons at this point in the game (CH2).

At level 10 my Sheela was tanking the dragon with... 50 AC I think? That's ignoring the stacking debuffs to attack rolls.
How did you get that high?
I might have missed a few AC if there were some better items, but I got an armor with 10 or 11, a +2 ring, +2 amulet, heavy shield with, I think +6. The usual feats that support heavy armor, etc.
But I don't see how you could possibly get here that high.

+4 heavy shield, Carapace armour (11 AC heavy with 3 dex bonus), a +4 deflection ring and - most importantly - Aroden's Wrath, which changes the charisma based AC bonus from Smite Evil from deflection to sacred. Magical Vestment on both shield and armour, Haste, Reduce Person, Eagle's Splendour ( to get her Charisma to +5), Cat's Grace (to get her Dex bonus to +3), Barkskin (a +3 ammy works just as well), Fighting Defensively, Dodge. You can get lucky with Lucky Dice for a +1 luck AC bonus as well. I might be missing something, but that's the core.

Definitely not with my current main char, anyway. Witch/Winter Witch.
Not terrible, it's fun to play, but I fail to see any insane potential here.
You'll be happy to hear that WW is one of the classes for which core bonuses/mechanics are dysfunctional currently (like most of the extra DC for cold spells not being added).

After the sad true that my Bloodrager Demon was useless , i remade my character into Scion Abyssal/Bronze dragon.

And my god , feels good to have 30 armor that lasts 24h + Displacement/Blur/Mirror Image/Shield while doing Sonic (Scimitar of wind), Eletric and Ice/Fire damage that triggers Elemental Barage and i can ''Nothing personnel kid'' with Demon's teleport ability.
Fuck Bloodrager, Demon Scion is the shit.

Well, this is pretty crazy.
Looks like that's an item you'd get at a location I hadn't been to yet, though...

The rest sounds mostly like what I already have. Quite possible that the game just bugged and didn't show me the correct values.
Or I remembered the value from before the buffing

Wait a minute. The paladin is gay (literally impossible without falling) and its husband is a tranny that took a magic potion to become a girl?

Is it too late to take my name off the credits. I don't want to be associated with retardation.

Bloody gallery of freaks and degenerates in this game.
Anevia was born male and is considered male in eyes of gods.
its actually a big fuck you to tranny community, implying they can never actually transition

Defeated Blightmaw twice after an hour, at level 9 and no mythic 3, Core, turn-based. Fully buffed party without a mage. Camped outside the door. Threw all manner of summons at him. Duality of Conjuration and Summoning which summons 3 Nabasu demons, they tanked and dmged Blightmaw surprisingly well. Tankard of Free Spirit which summons 2 Azatas and one Lillend, didn't do any dmg at him but kept him busy enough. Summon the skeletons from Camelia. Blightmaw cleaved all the summons pretty quick. Got enough time to get him to half hp, mostly through Lann. Seelah tanked him next for awhile, she died. Regill went next, died instantly. My Monk tanked the last, managed to hold him while Daeran kept up the heals till my Monk and Lann killed him. I had two dead and no resurrection spells or scrolls. Decided to give it another go.

This time, I spaced out the summons so they tank Blightmaw individually. Once the summons died, I summon the next one in line. Managed to get him down to 1/4 hp this time round and I had the last summon to use before I went in myself to tank. Turned out the Spirit Paladin you get on Mythic 2 is the best one to tank him coz he's literally IMMUNE to every attack and blow that Blightmaw does, check screenshot combat log. So I defeated him this time round without taking any dmg on my main party.

Love the fight. Really fun and challenging.

You got me to take a second look at Deadfire. Keep you eyes open man (and Perception up, and Relic Crafters busy) and prepare to be amazed.

There is no merc support. If you want to play Icewind Dale III you’ll need to make your own. Looking forward to it!

Fencing Grace is the one with Cam. Don’t need the stat belts/helms as much since there’s more rest. You can always buy some too instead of scrolls if you want. You’ll eventually get them tho there are other good options for those slots.
Do you keep Camellia fighting with Rapier + Buckler? What armor type do you use for her? Light or Medium?

Medium early then once you can fight Reduced you can use Mithril Chainshirt or if you want to use a good Medium put a Bull's STR on her. She has such high DEX Reduced you're usually better off with Light.

If you take Ancestor Second Mystery on Daeran which is Lore Freindly and get you this:

Daeran12BigStorm.jpg
Then you can get the superduper Mage Armor (Spirit Shield) which gives him enough capacity to use some heavier stuff. I think I'll have him on Tower Shield eventually.

I realize I should have given her a tower shield, but even then...

Don't really need to tank bosses though so I wouldn't worry too much. You give up a lot to get that high. Just need enough AC to avoid the regular stuff so you can maneuver. 40-42 should do it 45-47 is the sweet spot.

Is there any reason to rush to finish Act 2? There are some Demon packs that might need a bit of skipping of days to get enough reinforcements to kill and I wonder if I lose out on anything if I do that.

I got two Cloaks of Resistance + 3 but I hardly rushed. Don't really need to skip days either just take your time and rest plenty. Much friendlier pace of play than P:K.

Btw does the Underground Hideout disaapear if progress the story too much ?

I was super suprise how well Camellia tanks. I still level 8 but she's getting 36/37 armor without the Iceplant Ring.
Also i love enduring spell , not having to buff every fight is amazing.

In case you've been wondering how to fix your negative levels.

You buy the scrolls from Rathmus who resides in the (badly marked on the map) field hospital. Rathmus gives you a hint that he can read scrolls for you while you are at the camp. The operative phrase is "at the camp". The devs saved themselves some work because if Rathmus reading scrolls for you only worked within the field hospital tent, they would have to devise a way to have you move your party members to that tent, or a way to have Rathmus move to the party member in question.

Instead they went with the solution that saves them work, but is harder for the player to figure out. You can cast any scroll from your belt that can be targeted at a friendly, and as long as you've bought this scroll from Rathmus, it auto-succeeds and the combat log says Rathmus has cast it:

As an added bonus of confusing the player, the scroll still says "Can be used with skill check", even though this isn't true in this case. And the game already knows it's not true, because Rathmus-bought scrolls are the only ones that will be cast by him (I've tested it).

So the devs have a flag for "scroll bought by Rathmus" but they don't use it to display a different text in the scroll tooltip.
:argh::retarded:
You are complicating too much. Just open inventory, focus on character you want it to work on and right click on scroll and press USE. Game automatically uses a character that can use those scrolls normally to cast it. It only works like this outside combat. I heal my Dhampir Necro with Inflict scrolls like this all the time.

Something I haven't figured out yet, if anyone knows, is when can I use scrolls/wands that require a UMD check, from inventory, outside of combat?
Sometimes for example my Assassin can cast Mirror Image from a scroll, even if it takes a couple of tries to succeed, and that is depicted later in the log. Other times, seemingly under same circumstances, no matter how many times I try, it doesn't let me and I have to do it in real time. So, what gives?

It is not about resting, there is a strenght 7 demon horde on way to that Heart area and I only barely got my army to strength 5 and noticed that if I fight enemy of same strength I lose some soldiers so I need to get to strength 7 at least to do that battle.

Also I mistakenly picked archer dude as general, how do you use Traps? You cannot throw them directly on enemy, when I throw them in front of enemy they step around them like they know the location and when they do move through them, they only got DC 10 and they save most of the time..

I suspect that reward also depends on her staying with an army. I have only got cloak when she sends the letter, but when she thanked personally she gave me +4 AC ring and some other generic defensive item.

Lol now people complain that mobs don't step into obviously ground effects. Yeah unfortunately traps are mostly just for battlefield control (which can be better than it looks, or would be if DCs weren't bugged) but you get some very good Siegecraft abilities. My Ranger started with the AoE Confuse. As long as you pick up Heal you should be ok. Yeah I left a couple 7 STR armies for CH 2 and the ones west of Chapel are harder now than they were. But to open things up for your party to explore only takes 6 STR or so.
