Pets giving buffs is a bit strange tbh, and contributes to the power creep. Why have armor penalties if they are going to be removed by an enchantment and a pet?

You have a point. However there's opportunity cost. You may like other armor enchantments better... and other pet bonuses too. Of course, something like Devil of Caroc Breastplate (which has great enchantments in general) + Abraham/Cutthroat Cosmo is almost universally a strong combo.

The more slots you have, the more power creep sets in too.

Right, extra pet slot is power creep, but Community Patch aka Buff Everything Patch is awesome. :)

Seriously though, extra pet slot is barely making a difference compared to power creep caused by metagaming. With the right skills, straight after tutorial island you can sail counterclockwise around the map picking up exploration XP and non-combat quest, robbing shopkeepers and vaults. After maybe 2 hours you'll arrive in Neketaka at level 10 decked in mastery/legendary gear without a single fight.

No, buffing everything is not awesome. It is not I who advocates for the patch, but Haplo

True. I consider Community Patch a good addition. Because it makes some useless abilities useful (but not OP!) and fixes some inconsequences from the vanilla game.

It certainly does not bring more "power creep" then the pets or Beraths Blessings.

Does Community Patch Extra fix performance ?

I've decided to replay this and finally do the DLC. I'll be playing RTwP, Path of the Damned, probably a couple of challenges and blessings active. I'll be ignoring all the companions, but I might use sidekicks. Outside of Vatnir, do any of them get significant interactions?

Only in the DLCs, and some of them only in certain DLCs. That goes for all of them except Mirke.

True that. For example Fassina does get a lot of reactivity in Forgotten Sanctum.

How does this work, Haplo ?

Umm, you mean a Troubadour / Psion?

In theory its a very solid multiclass, always having the ability to cast something - with both classes passively regenerating resources all the time (Psion stops regeneration when hit). Not too much broken stuff/powers IMO, but a chanter can summon very solid meatshields/bodyblocks and can even passively Brisk Recite new skelly meatshield every 3 seconds. And a high level Psion can basically spam low-level powers... or alternate chanter invocations and high-level powers. The nice thing for casting-oriented characters is that a Psion doesn't need to deal damage to use cipher powers - which is particularly helpful against the solitary big bosses, which might have huge defenses and not be easy to quickly damage with martial attacks.

Also with Sasha's Singing Scimitar, such a character can Empower an ability in every encounter. Potentially get multiple Tier 3 Inspirations from Least Unstable Coil in the process (for example with the Thrice Was She Wronged, and Thrice Justly Avenged invocation).
If one of them is Might - Corageous - and Troubadour recites an offensive chant with a hit roll that can crit, he can also potentially passively aoe Interrupt multiple enemies every 3 seconds.

Personally chanter isn't among my favorite classes (like to have Pallegina as a Herald party support, though) and I prefer more... active cipher archetypes, more suited to being in the thick of things. But its certainly a potent combo, particularly for soloing.

Or you meant something else?

Rolled with a Moon Godlike Fighter/Blood Mage using Concelhaut's Parasitic Staff. I have 4 ways to continuously heal myself in combat, plus Second Wind. The attribute distribution is a little rough because you end up wanting everything, but it's amusing sitting in the middle of a group of enemies not losing health.

You don't really need Resolve. Wizard buffs trump a few Resolve points, particularly Repulsive Visage. And once you get Unbending and prolong it with Wall of Draining, you're nearly immortal anyway.

Also if you like healing, try Corrosive Siphon - if you haven't already. Crazy good healing from enemy mobs.

Don't know much about this. Way to bothersome for me.
But a Psion / Troubadour among others has access to: lotsa bodyblocks, strong CC, powerful healing (Pain Block), healing over time (Ancient Memory) and MAYBE even Stasis in a pinch? (not sure if that can be cast on Vela).

I wouldn't think protecting Vela is the problem in this challenge, seeing as everyone can use scrolls of Withdraw and that's the easiest and most reliable way for her not to randomly die.

There is a Psion-Troubadour Ultimate series on YT: I assume it's the same person.

I did a Psion/Troubadour run, it's an ultimate suppport character. Wicked debuffs, buffs and summons and you can spam them all day long because Chanter's phrases and Psion's focus regenerate passively.

Wat? Thats the only challenge in this challenge, second being the megabosses...
The biggest challenge is the lack of class resources and the lack of a way to reset fights. There is a reason why Blood Mage and Priest of Skaen are the top classes for this ordeal. Vela can be protected by simply spamming Withdraw, which is available as a scroll.
