It still looks retarded after 15 years of !immersion! technology because Game developers have yet to understand that the emotional input comes almost solely from the region around the eyes. Which they obviously can't simulate at all.

Good to see Roberts has come up with a lot of original ideas in the past decade or so.

What the fuck is this garbage.

Doesn't Roberts realize that in the future people will no longer clap. They'll do jazz hands.

This is what you paid for and this is what you deserve. A lot of shitty cinematics and pretentious, Hollywood wannabe directing.

Why does Gary Oldman sound like he is dying of emphysema? And what the fuck they actually modeled the character after him. That video was just about the gayest shit i've ever seen.

Maybe he's dying of emphysema?
He sounds normal in his interview though. Maybe that's the best he can manage while yelling with an American accent. Maybe it's shitty directing/editing. He also looks pretty small for a military leader. Should be a little bigger in my opinion.

At least 3m high, 300kg gorilla ready to pound anyone.

To anyone not following SC lore. Vandu attack happened at the time of military budget cuts. People speculate this is just propaganda and most likely it is the general that attacked vandu in first place.

Actually they do understand this. Their tech capture whole part of eyes along with minimal lower upper eyelids movements. Imo they used some shitty lighting to that scene. This is how their tech looks like close up and there is whole behind scenes video which show part about eyelids which is much more impressive than below gif

Converting the engine into 64-bit
Wait, you are telling me this began on a 32bit engine!? With plans (graphics, sound and AI/systems) today's PCs wouldn't be capable to handle and all they'd entail in memory resources alone? They chose a 32bit engine for those?

Am not following SC news (other than the occasional butthurt) so maybe this has been covered, apologies if so.. but isn't this a bit .. worrying, lol
If it was a game i'd even consider pledging 5digit numbers to, the above would definitely make me pause. Or laugh, as a casual observer. This is even funnier than the 20k coffee maker.

That doesn't look like a human being, but those silicon faced eerie robots they make in Korea.

They invested millions in their realistic characters models, for a space simulator, instead of just larping it and having fun like here

It's pretty weird. They invest millions, like you said, even go the full Hollywood mile like no one has ever done before (spoiler: probably because it's dumb and an inefficient use of funds for the big studios) and the end result seems somehow more robotic and unnatural than your average Mass Effect cutscene.

People were praising the ship shown in the S42 movie, but I really hope it that the textures will get tome wear and tear, it looks way too new. But then again, there was not much else to praise, the scene was way too long and the animations lacking.

I give them a pass because it's a prototype, but I'd be shocked if anyone found that video impressive from a cinematic perspective. They didn't even manage to sync up the voices and animations. I've seen Skyrim mods with better NPC acting.

It was prototype of tech they will be using.

Instead of cinematics they will be doing almost all animations real time and those animations will be modified to work with any reasonable player placement.

I don't think there is any game that uses motion capture and blending to this extend aside from that prototype.
