Which platform version of MM2 you playing?
SHRAPMETAL! UNLIMITED SHRAAAPMEEEETAAAL!Is the dark side stronger?
Bad news indeed. As far as I'm aware there's no way to get thievery on a non-robber/ninja and no item/spell to replicate it.M&M2 Gates to another world
I want a clerics-sorcerers only party. But can I disarm chests without a robber/ninja?
Any available spell, item etc?
I know I cannot equip the Thief's pick. :-(
You could eat the traps, but that's not something I'd recommend.
All said and done however, this is not MM6-8. There's enough anti-magic zones and enemies just flat out immune to spells that I could only describe such a playthrough as "ball busting hard"
edit - oh, and gems will be a serious issue. Unless you plan on using the absolute piss weak spells or just having half your characters act as fighter-wannabes or something most of the time
You wouldn't have access to level 8 and 9 spells. That too would be painful at times. I'd say less painful thoughBad news indeed. As far as I'm aware there's no way to get thievery on a non-robber/ninja and no item/spell to replicate it.M&M2 Gates to another world

What about a 3 paladin + 3 archers party? I will hire Phooey ninja for disarming.
The hireling names in MM2 can be....interesting to say the least.Post a pic of her "bootay."

6 Archers easiest party to play. They can shoot from any position, bows do more damage than a knights melee weapon. Have easy class promotion quest and get access to the best damaging sorcerer spells at level 7. Everyone can bail out and cast time distortion and fly to temple if combat is too difficult.Bad news indeed. As far as I'm aware there's no way to get thievery on a non-robber/ninja and no item/spell to replicate it.M&M2 Gates to another world

Do I need melee weapons for the archers? Or will they use bows all time?6 Archers easiest party to play. They can shoot from any position, bows do more damage than a knights melee weapon. Bows are the number 1 option but if you have a better weapon you can use instead. If they have stat bonuses it makes sense to equip both even if you only use bow. You can rock any party you want, paladins don't restrict you, just archer/sorc have additional benefit of being able to cast time distortion. Never really found healers to be that useful apart from 1 optional fight, healing can be done by items, herbal patches are cheap to buy.Do I need melee weapons for the archers? Can I use 1 paladin for healing? Or then I cannot bail out from fights because of him?
Darkside is intended for a party that's already completed Clouds. You should be able to handle the starting area if you go there now.I have to say it works wonderfully with ScumVM, frames are smooth and loading and saving itnerface is instant. Beyond happy I had that issue so I discovered this project. A blessing in disguise indeed. I put playing this one for so long but I'm having a blast with this carefully and lovely designed exploration and leveling. Can anyone give me some advice as to when to jump into Dark side so I don't make the game too easy overall? I'm about to venture into the Yak temple with lvl 10 chars atm, doing well with a Ba/Pa/Pa/Ni/Ar/Ar party, that hybrid playstyle with SP fountains is even better than my first party with the GoG Dosbox : D
Jun 8, 2023: Journey Now Into an Age of Chivalry in an Alternate Reality
A stalwart party exploring the unknown, seeking the fabled Inner Sanctum. But all is not what it seems in the world of Varn...
The ScummVM Team is pleased to announce full support for the PC version of the first game of the Might and Magic series: Might and Magic Book One: The Secret of the Inner Sanctum. Two modes are supported:
Both modes allow saving your game anywhere outside of combat via the ScummVM Global Main Menu (unlike the original game that only saved a single roster when checking into an inn). So make sure you save regularly, just in case you encounter problems.
- The original look and feel of the game (sound, which in the original consisted of merely the occasional beep, is not supported)
- A ScummVM-exclusive enhanced mode, which uses the interface of the later Xeen games, including niceties such as better character screens, automapping, and sound effects. It also integrates the impressive "Might and Magic 1 Graphics Overhaul Mod", which provides better in-game map and monster graphics. The xeen.cc file is required from Might and Magic: IV or Might and Magic: World of Xeen.
Help us test both game modes by grabbing a daily build and adding mm.dat to the same folder as your game files. Read through our testing guidelines, and please take some screenshots along the way.
Now, go forth, and discover the true secrets of the game that started the long running epic fantasy series!
