As for Daz3D - have you seen City of Broken Dreamers?

Yeah, I've been following it, but the models there still have the standard ultrarealistic look that gives them an uncanny valley effect. I don't think I've really seen Daz3D used in a way that doesn't give me a fear boner.

That is true, character animations look scary if the models are ultra realistic. Especially faces.
But models are not what I had in mind.

Combination of ultrarealistic environment, volumetric fog and rest of physics renderer bells and whistles with less detailed model textures, almost cartoony - that could be interesting.
Especially fog and neon lights combined with sharp shadows in this setting.

It functions well in games, but I saw it first in comics.
Manga artists, Herge in Tin Tin, Bernet in Torpedo, Hernandez Brothers in Love&Rockets used this technique to great effect.
It has something to do with our brains accepting less detailed stuff as more universal, so we don't question it as much as detailed portraits.

Only downside is longer render times, you can't have enough processing power.
And it kind of limits your characters to archetypes, but that can be resolved with lots of basic variations and good writing.

The Drone Controller subclass from my previous game will be returning as a full class, mostly with drone summoning and swarm buff abilities.

Also, there will be initial faction bonuses tied to your character's ethnicity. There really isn't such a thing as multiculturalism in gangs. Being a white dude in the triad-inspired faction, or a black dude in the russian mafia-inspired faction is gonna be one hell of an uphill battle.

Now that I think about it, I might actually get canceled.

Like mortal crime syndicates in MoonFall, the vampire lineages can trace their origins in the city back to the mass migration following the Cataclysm of 721, which resulted in the destruction of Greater Gushan and most of old Dyavol. The recent Zimalyan Civil War has also led to a wave of refugees, bringing with them the Sunseeker Court. As a consequence, most lineages are split among ethnic and cultural lines.


The vampire lineages are surprisingly progressive, to a point. Ability, loyalty and cunning matter most, but be aware, many lineages still favor what they consider as “their own people.”

What is freaky is that might be the next irl setup for VR technology. Full body suits to enhance the sensations. Eventually it'll be just like Sword Art Online or the matrix? You'll never "wake up."

Given that it's a porn game, I thought it'd be something more like this:

It's a game with porn, not a porn game. I find games that revolve entirely around the porn aspect incredibly cringy. It's not my thing.

The porn here is just another avenue for player gratification, like combat, character builds, etc. Or maybe I just played too many tabletop sessions where somebody just has to seduce everyone in the tavern.

The weakness against sun should be a main drawback of being a vampire. And is a supernatural weaknesses which no tech can work to fully prevent it. At the best scenario, vampires should take less damage from the sun with ultra expensive and experimental drugs mixing science and weird blood magic rituals but the sun should be the bane of vampires.

Also, please. Include VtMB style thaumaturgy / blood sorcery into the game.

But if you're absolutely dead-set on making Vampires not vulnerable to the Sun, Tyranicon , then why not go full Twilight and make them sparkle when exposed to it? :lol:

Yeah, it's been discussed a few pages back. There'll be significant penalties for vampires being out in daylight, they just won't be BBQed on contact like you see in most media.

Other suggestion, makes the magic powerful but DANGEROUS. Eg - If the vampire is using something similar to lure of flames and took a attack of opporunity and failed the concentration check(or whatever you have in the game), he is hit by his own flames. Summoned creatures can betray his master if he fails at attempting to dominate the summoned monster and so on.

I like the Blood Omen style idea that Vampires are severely weakened in daylight. I use that as the example style because that's the first game I saw that mechanic implemented with Vampires, etc.

Massive incline. Italia Mafia in many countries(USA, Argentina and Italy of course) tends to only accept people of Italy ancestry. Someone of non Italy ancestry can work for then? Sure, but never be a member of the "family".

If was today, the boss of Russian mafia in VtMB instead of Boris would be called Tyronne.
