I reached day 6 in Devil Survivor: Overclocked.
If you don't know what it is, it's a Shin Megami Tensei spinoff tactical rpg on the Nintendo 3DS. There was first a Nintendo DS version, but this one added in more stuff all around, plus voice acting.
Cheese is the name of this game's tactics. Cheese or get cheesed. It is very important to cover the weaknesses of your demons, and having spells/skills that can hurt your opponents. It can be very challenging or very easy. I one shotted one boss, but had troubles on maps where the enemy party setup was resisting lots of stuff. Overall an enjoyable game. There are some terrible characters, mixed with some good. The artist must love big breasts. The overarching story is decent enough. Once I am done with this, I plan to play the sequel. I was hoping to beat my DS/3DS library this year, but it is impossible. Still, I'm slowly getting there, while trying some solid jrpgs.
Troubleshooter: Abandoned Children. I'm doing a few missions here and there. The last mission had 30 enemies, but they weren't really a huge threat. I've made Albus (melee main character) into an evasion tank, and he has 200% critical damage. He also got an attack of opportunity mastery. The guy is a death machine. The rest of the party supports him from afar. I'm playing on hard, but it might be time to change to maximum difficulty. We'll see.
Jedi Fallen Order. It's a decent game, but it has a main character with a very punchable face, and the negress in the ship is also annoying. The alien pilot is okay. I'm shit at combat, but now that I have a few more unlocked moves, I'm not dying as often. It looks and sounds good, and I appreciate the level design. There are metroidvania elements to levels. You can revisit planets with new powers to unlock new paths. I'm undecided if I want to do that, though. I have reached the third planet, and so far it has been a good ratio of story and gameplay. Respawn is a decent studio. I enjoyed both Titanfall games, and I'm not even into FPS games.
Octopath Traveler II. A game that I enjoy, but not a JRPG I would really recommend to the Codex. If you like the first game, you will like this one, too. I'm on the fourth chapter for most characters, and I'm also doing a few side quests. Side quests are can be very obscure. They don't point you in any particular direction. Instead, you have to figure out the solution on your own. For me, it's been a bit on the easy side (some people seem to think it's difficult), but there have been challenging side bosses. Luckily, some story bosses have also posed a challenge. There isn't an overarching story for most of the game. All eight characters do their own story beat, even if the others are in your active combat party. There are also four crossed paths stories, where two characters share a shorter story. Writing is mixed, voice acting is mostly poor, and the music is top tier JRPG music.
