Few mortals ever glimpse what you are about to see… A never-seen-before look at Baldur’s Gate 3 and the adventure that awaits you in Faerûn.

Baldur's Gate 3 launches August 3rd on PC and September 6th for PS5.

Preordering on PC now will automatically upgrade you to the Digital Edition for free. On PS5, preordering the Deluxe Edition will give you access to 72hrs Early Access and many other goodies.

Lol that has to be the most telling advertising trailer I've ever seen.

"Yeah this is a low budget porno game. D&D? Baldur's Gate? What's that, C'MON STICK A DICK UP YOUR ASS."

I'm actually baffled. Even if this is your type of game, it's surreal to try and sell an "epic RPG" by just showing a bunch of people you don't know kissing.

You know, the trailer is just for marketing. Of course, in the first place, they will show those elements that will cause more sales.

Yeah my angle though is I don't think it will. I think it's just inept. How many people actually are the Biowhore crowd? As we learned from Bioware's fall from grace when even they couldn't stand the "fanbase" they had cultivated, it isn't that many. They are just very vocal and terminally online.

In many aspects, the Bioware crowd are more or less the average rpg audience. Both Obsidian and Larian have tried to cater to them in different ways. Still trying to ape DA:O and its impact among the general public I'd say.

Have they talked about more companions? Or it's only 3 of them and that's it?

From last week: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1086940/view/3657534571513526776

With the addition of Karlach, our number of Origin characters now rises to six. She will join Astarion, Gale, Shadowheart, Lae’zel, and Wyll like a well-meaning, devil-fighting bat out of hell, rounding out the moral spectrum of playable characters from good to bad, and the shades of grey between. But she won't be our final Origin - you'll have to tune in to next week’s Panel From Hell: Release Showcase for that.

Along with your Origins, you can also expect to find four Companion characters who can join you on your journey: Halsin, Jaheira, Minsc, and Minthara. While we initially planned to lock players in with a core crew of companions past Act I, we nixed that plan in favour of a buffet-approach to team selection. You’ll be able to mix and match any of these characters into your group throughout. And, yes, you’ll be able to romance almost all of them (ask us sometime about that Halsin scene).
That's what I'm talking about. They say there are 4 companions but you can get 3 because getting either Halsin or Minthara requires you to kill the other. I'm just curious whether there are more of them because 3 is simply not enough, not even close(especially considering there are two druids in them).

There was the general Bioware audience, and then there was the Bioware social crowd. It's the latter I'm talking about. A mentally ill crowd of queers, fags, and squee-glomp-owo-ing 40 year old overweight single women who smell of catpiss who were so cancerous Bioware was forced to shut down their entire forum just to get them to shut up.

That's the rpg audience now. The one that stuck with the genre from the mid 2000s onwards. Baldur's Gate is from a time before them.

the facial animations is still pretty horrible, especially when the voice acting are showing emotions.

Lol @ them bringing back Jaheira, the naggiest bitch in BG2. God almighty, she was just the worst. They could bring her back, but not Aerie, who was better in every single way, including being nice and not a huge bitch? These fucking Belgians are out of control.

I honestly think you underestimate players.
If players really cared more about mechanics, combat, or anything other than (poor) romances, developers wouldn't waste time on them.
It's not just Bioware anymore. I bet that if you go to a reddit dedicated to some rpg game, half of the content would have something to do with it.
