Looks like anyme pulled people again into it:
Are you sure about that, the games on sale. I think CDPR are lying, go look at the data for Jan 2022 which would have been a 50% off sale as well to welcome in the new patch, the player count was even higher. Total marketing copium at this point I don't think this is the success they claim it is. In the future take the sample from the entire year, not just a month its more telling of what is going on. If you look at the spikes in player count in how it constantly fluctuates it correlates to the data on this chart, https://steamdb.info/sub/367653/
CDPR has been speed-bumping sales. If you look at the player numbers prior to September 13th (the shows launch) there was already a spike of about 20k players already, the extra 10k is likely from the show. They also released 1.6 as well so you can't claim its entirely the shows doing like CDPR are. Plus I'm also pretty sure that Valve is promoting it more than usual.

At this point Geralt story is done, what the fuck they are gonna do?
Probably "make your own Witcher(ess)" approach. The addition of a secret school is perfect setup for a wildcard. You'd also be free to make their own story, just set in the Witcher universe. The real question is whether they will offer "more of the same" or start making changes to the formula (at least the parts of it).

IT has enough sidequests and main story for about 70-80 hours which is where it starts to feel like you said.
You don't get it. It has a million outposts to clear, but there's no "SO IMMULSIVE" features like GTA's pedestrian variety and minigames nor can you make stacks of soy noodles in your apartment like in Skyrim.

Still on a business perspective would be retarded to fully drop an IP like CP2077 to go for another Witcher, in terms of being able to shit more products CP > Witcher. At this point Geralt story is done, what the fuck they are gonna do? Oh shit nekkers again let me use my witcher vision again to get those fuckers.
From a business perspective, it would be silly to follow a troubled CP2077 with another CP release, rather than returning to The Witcher franchise and perhaps later making a decision to swing back to Cyberpunk after that. Since Cyberpunk 2077 already features a customizable protagonist, rather than a pregenerated one like Geralt, the obvious path for another Witcher game is to allow players to create their own Witchers, possibly with a much greater amount of skill customization, so that instead of every Witcher being a sword-fighter with some magical and alchemical abilities, the player might choose to be most proficient in spell-casting or most proficient in alchemy, with a structure similar to the Elder Scrolls games which have divided skills between fighter, mage, and thief archetypes.

Problem is that the reputation isnt because of the name, more like the dev studio fucking it, so you gonna release a new Witcher with the same shadow of doubt will this game be a overhyped piece of shit?

The fact that they said Lol-i doesn't fit in Cyberpunk whilst also at the same time removing Exotics, Rockerboys, Cops (as a class), Journos and basically gutted Corpos should tell you all you need to know really about CDPR's future with Cyberpunk. Get ready for Cyberpunk Battleroyale it's totally coming next. They have no idea what they're sitting on, Cyberpunk deserves better than this. Oh I forgot they also removed any hope of ever playing a Panzerboy as well due to the lack of flying vehicles.

Small correction, they said that "lolis" don't fit "Cyberpunk 2077" aesthetic, not Cyberpunk as a genre in general.

It should peak Sunday.

Guess what takoyaki, people won't care, probably most won't even remember, and will buy their next product without concern about whatever imagined doubt this game cast on the developers. Only autists care about this game not meeting their bloated expectations.

Anime can be good advertisement for bad games. A fact mobile game developers already realized. There are tons of shows based on crappy games.

Ok even on that approach where no one will give a fuck and will consume. You are still abandoning know how with the in house engine, have to train staff all over again even if is UE 5(they probably have Tech support to help the devs using it) and have to share profits with Tim Sweeney.

Unless the red engine is a ultimate piece of shit where the devs now to this day don't get it, makes no sense. I guess the advantage of Witcher game in theory you don't have to break your noggin with many in game mechanics given its your run of the mill sword man magic guy game.

edit: also fuck you I'm gonna prepare some Takoyaki soon.

Probably also helps that the GPU shortage is no longer a thing, and that in general CP2077 is friendlier to a lot more hardware (FSR, a Steam Deck targetted preset, that kinda thing). A lot of people just weren't able to play it when it came out, and then didn't want to when they could due to the negative image that hung on in terms of bugs and performance. (Personally played it through in ... Februrary? after it came out without any significant bugs, but I seem to have been lucky.)

So the numbers are pretty crazy, but there's a bit more context to it beyond the anime series.

Does anyone happen to know if there are any promising gameplay overhaul mods in the works for this at the moment? I played it at release and had a decently fun time with it, but never finished it. Would like to play it to completion at some point, but don't think the systems are quite engaging enough to see me through.

There is a mod that makes the enemies slightly non retardo

https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/4408

Also you can tweak if you just want a slightly more aggressive AI

There's also the fact that there's a lot of articles being written now about the surge in player numbers, which is in turn snowballing the number of players. But I mean what we're seeing here is full blown manipulation of the market, the journos are on the take so they're boosting the numbers, valve is on the take so they're boosting the numbers on steams front pages and popups at CDPR's request, Netflix is cross-promoting it which in turn is bringing in other marketing platforms that CDPR probably didn't have access to before. There is no doubt a lot of money being thrown into the marketing machine at this time and its annoying to see it working because the game just hasn't progressed enough to justify the praise and success it's getting. The rotten tomatoes score for the cartoon is also pretty telling something funky is going on especially since it has a higher score than even Eva.

Game was fine at launch unless you were trying to play it on a toaster or a last gen console. Game continues to be fine. News at 11.

While snowballing effect is something real, that barely anyone mentioned it. Only yesterday people started to write about it.
To me it looks like people are finishing Edgerunners and "want something more" as there is no season 2 so they go straight to game.
Moreover there is currently promo on C77 50% off.

Then there is "i will play it when they will patch it" crowd which is pretty large.

Either way going by how it is trending and how usually the most people playing sunday it may even reach 100k people today.

Using reduced loot mod and removed via config pretty much all guns, armor, trash, medkits etc.
Game plays a lot better this way and there is a reason to visit gun shops, clothiers etc.
The best part is that you don't run around like a monkey picking everything up.
