Also, it is blatantly an action RPG, it just has turn-based combat instead of Diablo hack n' slash.
So it isn't an action RPG? Or are you redefining action RPGs to be anything where gameplay doesn't mainly consist of clicking strings?

Toggle button for sorting, like the chatbox thinguie. But then software devs would have a ethical crisis over to sort everytime the inventory is opened (easy but slower and unnecessary since it was done many times and only is required for new items meanwhile) or do binary insertion of every new item (probably messier).

Until the chief architect bitchslaps them and points out it's only a few thousands things to be sorted at most.
Until a user appears with a bug report where he picked up every pickupable item in the world.

only have to sort when contents change not every time it opens.

I always like when my ARPGs have me spending 2 hours in town exploring, talking, solving murders and framing innocent people.

The difficulty complaints are just fucking bizarre. I dropped down to easy just to see what the big deal is, and I was plowing through shit. If the game is too hard, put it on "Easy." If it is still too hard, go take up knitting you fucking idiots.

Forgive me if I missed something but who's saying this game is too hard? Or are you talking about Steamplebs?

Yeah, I'm referring to those whiny mouthbreathers.

Sorry, I mean REAL GAMERZ that totally play Wolfenstein.

he didnt put enough points into willpower and got confused, if Divinity is Turn based Diablo then TOEE is Marvel Ultimate Alliance

Rain on the area. Mage sneaks in invisible and teleports totem to the chokepoint. Apparently enemies can still pass through its legs, though, so used a fire elemental scroll on the other side (where the flanked symbol is) to distract them, since they can one hit kill my poor glass cannon. Then it's straightforward to bring down the totem first then the rest of them.
See, this is why I like this game. There's a myriad of different creative strategies you can use.
Alternatively you can just lead them all far enough away from the totem and it won't raise them anymore. Then you can kill the totem at your leisure.

There are many obvious similarities between D:OS and Diablo, the randomized loot being one. But being focused on combat isn't, not only is the system dramatically different but so is the pacing. If this was Diablo then you'd have fought upwards of 50 monsters before even reaching Cyseal.

There's barely any narrative to speak of and I haven't come across any alternate solutions to quests yet (except for who you send the unemployed sailors to). Combat and loot are the biggest elements of the game and I can't see how anyone could argue against that. The last few pages of this thread have been excellent for idiot detecting.
Oh the irony.

Number of hotbars got upped form 3 to 5 it seem.s But for some reason the up/down arrows functions got revered as well. Used ot be up arrow incremented hot bar #, not it's the other way around.

Loot in the kings castle in Hiberheim is still bugged and set to level 5.

it's an action rpg in the archaic meaning of the term, that is the crpg analogue of pnp hack'n slash.

Then he should've just said that it was an combat-focused RPG, or anything like it. He chose the strangest way to classify the game, to say the least.

I am itching to buy this game on gog, but since I rarely get the luxury of replaying games what should I do? Get the game it its current form of wait a while longer for the promised extra companions presumably available on August?
If I do start playing the game right away what would ne good fun starter class suggestions? I don't like powergaming at all and I was leaning towards a rogue and a magic caster...

Typical band-aid eurotrash solutions, totally out of touch with this kind of fan base.

Using 'combat stuff' while in inventory should close it down automatically. Just on the tut i did just that and facepalmed when i tried to close it and it cast the spell on the location under the button instead of clicking on it. Drag the window away works, but its probably the only reason this state of affairs was tolerated so it's a bad solution in my book(besides the obvious).

After todays patch I can no longer scroll through my hotbars either with the up/down buttons on the hotbar itself or the new hotkeys. Am I missing something?
