Mileage may vary depending on your system, but if you happen to be using windows 10 and have a DirectX 12 capable video card, I solved this problem by putting this flag in the steam executable (under properties -> set launch options) -force-d3d12. If you have an older system try forcing d3d9 or whatever your card natively supports. I had two crashes right in a row after exiting the character creation screen and after setting this flag I ran the game for 4 hours without interruption.

Metacritic observation: EE console user reviews are lower than critical reviews. I expected this. Console market is sort of like the reverse of PC market: where on PC the users tend to be more monocled than the critics, on consoles the critics are more monocled than the users by a huge margin. Haha, and the XBox One user score is MUCH lower than the PS4 one. All stereotypes confirmed.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
So far I love tactician mode. I died in the very first fight, and had to load a couple of times during other encounters

Ditto. Although if it's anything like vanilla it's gonna be hysterically hard up until level 7, then an utter faceroll.

unity -- facken american mass-market garbage! *kicks a heap of trash with UniTY spray-painted over it*

*walks over to nice car filled with Yennefer and Scarlett cosplayers* hand-crafted european labor of love. now this I can dig.

Managed to sort out my crash. I'm playing it now and it's absurdly fun. I had forgotten how great this is.

My only complaint is that we still have that thing where the enemy moves one millimiter to the left right when you're gonna click him, and you end up not clicking on him, but instead on the fire surface that he's standing on, which immediately leads to your character walking over fire, taking damage 5-6 times and dying, which loses you a fight that you were already trying to win for half an hour, and when you had finally managed to gain the upper hand, you led your character to commit suicide.

Max resistance of player chars was capped to 80%, this is now 100%

 They backpedaled on this change. I guess console players don't like being forced to use consumables to get a 100% resistance to something.

Ah well, at least you can't heal from elemental damage.

I was expecting that they'd enhance the hitboxes and give us an option to speed up combat animations. Oh well.

Are the new companions worth getting or should I just run with Lone Wolves again? I had a lot of fun in my last playthrough but never finished the game.

There are no new companions as far as I know. Unless you are talking about the ranger and the rogue, who aren't new, they were introduced in a free DLC a long time ago.

Just ran into the purple prose spewing elf and it was painful.

Fascinating. It doesn't answer my question.

There is only one level to take it. Controllers consolize games. Controllers belong to consoles and should never be involved with the PC. Controllers and consoles mean controller UIs instead of PC GUIs, lists for inventories, no stats to confuse the monkey-savages, reduced equipment slots for the same, reduced complexity and rpg mechanics and everything good about crpgs.

Nothing good comes from it - besides gratuitous nudity, cussing, degradation of women, porn scenes, and shit gameplay.

I already lived through the first demise of the crpg due to consoles and console loving fucking monkey idiots. I hate them with the fire of a thousand suns and I hope they all get AIDS and die. The good AIDS too, the killer AIDS. Not the Magic Johnson wimpy non-lethal AIDs.

SCO is on shoutbox saying that Kodex Kool Konsensus is that D:OS EE is shit. Is she right? Haven't read thread yet.
Same game with forgettable voice overs and slighlty better combat , ton off additions on patch notes i've not seen yet. Still head and shoulders above the competition this year too.

Taking a short break, man has to order his junk food;

- do have to agree they overdid it with the voicing part..Swen, this is scary, i don't like scary. Anyway, ironic, considering the original version pretty much amounted to the exact same scenario, me playing it muted, lol
(as you may recall, there was a disturbingly loud 'echo' effect on newer sound cards that was never fixed)
Calling all modders SniperHF to see if any heavy wizardry can be done on this.

- i'm not very happy about the wand concept..bad, bad connotations..am also not entirely clear on just why this merited an inclusion in the first place..unless!

+ Tactician on lone wolves duo is thus far 'ok', am thinking it'd still be too easy with a proper 4man party. Might be cause it's early on though, to be seen.

Still gaming the dialogue options for specific traits...

That too, good point. Sadly they never intended to 'fix' this, we'll have to wait for D:OS II to see what they do with it. Was promised as part of the whole 'dialogue depth' package.

.

I use a pretty old Xonar DX, I never had an echo issue. My problem was always the sound cutting out completely outside of music.

Fixing anything sound related would be a massive pain in the ass as at least in the original, it was locked out for devs only.

Well shit, i forgot how badly rangers suck in the early game. Also summoned spider got nerfd and justifiably so (pretty sure he could attack 2 or even 3 times per round before). Melee with 2-hander on other hand... NPCs sure like to trigger dem sweet 30-40 damage AOOs.

A low con Rogue sure as hell is fun to play, but extremely squishy at low levels. But I still remember how boring straight up fighters were in vanilla, so I won't complain.

Hopefully Larian put some obscenely difficult - and optional - fights in the game after Cyseal, loved this in KotC as well. Also; I was sure there would be an Arena mode in the game where you could fight other players? The one where our prestigious magazine triumphed over the unwashed masses? Or is this for the sequel only?

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I have to say. First time I played this game it was kinda fun, but starting over now, even if it is a enhanced version it just feels awfully boring. Maybe I'm not in the mood, but everything is the same and just thinking about some of the encounters and long-winded dialogue I have to go through just kills me.

Rangers only had one thing going for them at Lvl 1 - the ability to use special arrow since you start with a bow and Marksman having that 15 meter Leap.
Now those are removed, there really is no positives from taking Marksman. If anything, Ranger would want to take a point in scoundrel for Hide in Shadow and Fast Track and eventually, Adrenaline.

8 DEX Wizards are optimal now.
