I was a french in my past life, and I feel discriminated.

By the way, the final score is more than arithmetic mean, each review has its weigh. Let's hope that the really big reviewers are generous.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that all french, past or present, are stupid... :P

About secrets...I've just bought one from the seller in my Homestead (Secret of the Black Cove Pirates) for 4,000+ and it pointed me to Black Cove. Apparently, "secret" is Pontius Pirate's chest I looted hours and hours ago. Feel cheated. :argh:

Will that happen a lot?

Secrets are buried chests, if you have someone with high perception and visit every place you'll find them all.

He is quite intelligent for a zombie but only way to avoid bloodshed is to pay him the toll, serious business. Also there is another way into the cemetery.

I told him
Grak
and could pass without payment or hostility.

Performance is excellent so far.

Combat is difficult though. I don't last long against any of the mobs outside the city and I can't recruit the big female companion because Scarlett (she wears the trousers and beats me at rock paper scissors) won't let me.

I think I've done what there is to be found in Cyseal and I need to go off to continue the quests, but can't. There's nowhere to grind up exp to get to the next level either. Right now I'm at level 3.
If you want to make a decision without the other interfering you can split the party, ie talk to the female fighter alone. There's a wizard to recruit in the library too.
Combat is only difficult between lvl3-5 when you first leave the city. Learn to use the environment, e.g. poison and/or oil barrels + fire (fire arrow for example).
Have one in your party learn earth magic, even a single point will let you learn spider summon and midnight oil, 2 good abilities to start combat with.

The only 2 problematic fights I've had so far, where I had to reload a couple of times, was the ghul at the lighthouse, back in the beginning, pretty much the point you're at currently, and the fight vs Evelyn, before I discovered the trick to that fight. Other than that it's pretty easy so far.

His opening meteors nearly instant kill everyone caught in them.
First, try to not have all your characters next to each others for his opening move. Second, he doesn't use it when there are people melee-ing him. From then on it should be easy.

Ughh, how do I kill
Rex

Unchain your HP sponge, give him/her fire resistance and cast rain before. And send him/her alone to initiate.

Also you can cheese it by attacking him before talking with invis/sneak or long range shot. Though he sometimes cast meteor after a few turns.

BTW his meteors are highly on the mark while my meteor(and similar spells) hardly hit anything... High level spells are mostly dissapointing except Finger of Death.

I stayed near the door and summoned some critters near him, so the summons got hit by the fire and not the party, then I had the poison-immune spider take care of the ghul, who only does poison attacks, killed the bone knight dude, the one who comes from the left, with my party, while keeping Rex and the big fire thingie occupied with summons, but watch out with rain and lightning to not stun your own guys.

These maps are huge, the forest one just goes on and on, with other areas connected to it. I'm overwhelmed by so much content

And there are no reviews still in mainstream mags/sites. Which means as they hit people will buy it even more.

Almost finished with the Cyseal map. Still having a lot of fun. Magic and ranged skills own this game though; my bow wielding rogue and two wizards typically mash everything before the tank gets a swing in.

For fuck's sake get a grip on yourselves, this game looks like shit, sounds like shit and is written like total shit, and bad writing is one of the main disclaimers of bad taste.

There's no gameplay whatsoever that can save such a trainwreck. Even piece of shit Jagged Alliance 2 has more appeal than this WoW-looking abortion. Also, you are aware you're playing a mainstream-appealing game, right?

I think the Codex in 2014 is undergoing puberty once again...

That, or maybe it never came out of it.
