Beat the game today, I enjoyed it overall but Elex I is a much better game and wth is up with the ending? Aside from the dumb kill lots of Skyand quests
"Dex dies (or at least that's what the game tells you) and when you talk to his mother she never even mentions it. If you go back to the guy guarding him he also acts like nothing's up."]
The ending/endgame seemed extremely rushed.
Agreed, though I had the same feeling about a "rushed" ending in Elex I. Maybe not quite as bad.

They consider it a relief, but kinda feel guilty about it.

I like to think he is a digital being now. Spread throughout the remnants of the alien network. Or perhaps that he somehow found a way to get inside the Cleric's or Alb's network in the final moments. Possibly re-emerging in some form, some day. In the third Elex :)

In the short time I spent with this game, I made it a point to never interact with Dex. Sure, i would show up in his vicinity and talk to the NPCs around him, but never with the little s hit himself. Peak absent dad RP experience. I hate kids both in real life and in vidya.

The back half of this thread basically says most people enjoyed Elex but didn't really dig Elex 2, while Steam has them at "mixed" and "mostly positive" respectively...
:hmmm:

That doesn't surpise me: A lot of people - like me - tried Elex 1, hated it and hence never bothered to look at the sequel. Hence, a lot of negative reviews get "filtered out".

Elex 2 isn't worth anyone's money since it has the worst optimisation I have seen in years even with the best hardware available a Core I9 and a RTX3090 still drops below 100FPS. The fact that it's PB most boring game doesn't help either.

I feel bad that I won this game for free because I haven't touched it due to this thread. I'm waiting for the dx12 update

Based Black Codexer?

I don't think I'm spoiling much if I tell you that if you ever want to finish the game, a fair bit of interaction with Dex is in your future.

I don't think I'll be spending any more time with this game, or Dex for that matter.

I just finished the game and I must say, that ending was anticlimactic. I get that PB is setting us up for Elex 3, but it felt like they forgot to wrap up the story.

I think it's safe to say now that neu PB is cooked, and ELEX 1 was something of a fluke.

Only the first entry in every PB franchise is good. The sequel always sucks (Gothic 2 obviously being an exception) which is then followed up by an even worse third entry.
My theory is that the G*rms run out of creative autism on the first game and end up creating shovelware out of laziness on the follow ups.
We'll just have to wait for Gothic 4.1 before we get another good PB game.

Wow this game must really suck if it dissappears from everybody's mind 5 months after release.
Also where is the codex review Roxor?

Elex 2 combat is similar to Risen 2 combat, by being braindead single button-mashing. It seems the only thing setting it apart is jetpack.

I'm still puzzled to this day as to why they took a departure from Risen 1, everything worked fine until they ran out of time and rushed the end of the game. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Now they are trapped into an endless loop of forgetting what works and what doesn't.

Edit : sorry for the double posting.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
PB claims that Risen 2-3 design was demanded by their publisher.
