I'm kind of trudging through through to the end of FO4, because I want to make sure I see all the sights, but I'll give it this: the game finally made me understand what the "Uncanny Valley" effect really means.

I enjoyed traveling around with the robot version of Curie, listening to her occasional bit of commentary and such. But, when I finished "Emergent Behavior" and she finally stood up in her fake human body, I had a gut reaction where I just saw her as this soulless... thing. I ended up quick-saving and unloading bullet after bullet at her head (she wouldn't die naturally), and repeated that a time or two until I got it out of my system. I ended up sending her off to some settlement I never visited, picked up Hancock at the edge of Goodneighbor, and been traveling w Hancock ever since. He's a ghoul, but at least he's a HUMAN ghoul.

I find it grating whenever I hear some idiot on the web talking about how "Curie is amazing, hot, sexy, etc." and then pronounces how they'll bang her and I'm like: Oh, so you approve of necrophiliac-incest? Interesting.

To see said person back up in horrific realization and start shitting out terrible excuses always makes me smile.

More like sex-bot or slave. She isn't aware of sexual comments about her which is retarded given that she is AI intelligent enough to comprehend Einstein's/Gauss'/Skłodowska-Curie's work.

But then again, Mr. Handies didn't possess AI and almost every "sentient" being in Fo4 and Fo3 is dumb.

Synth-Curie is functionally a human with robot memories loaded in brain.
If it triggers you Uncanny Valley reaction so strongly, it's your personal issue.

Hr Handies are in a weird intelligence limbo. They have a hard-coded set of rules (differing depending on the field) but other than that are disturbingly adaptive and lifelike. At least the ones that have had routine experience with actual people over the past couple centuries. If you removed their restrictions it seems like your job would be mostly done creating an AI.

Then you have Mr Gutsies and they're, well, they're dumb as bricks.

It is called bad writing.

"Patrolling the Mojave makes me wish for a nuclear winter!"

"Another settlement needs our help, General."

Reminds me how awful Wasteland 2 perspective is.

You suck.
You like that trash camera?

Isometric > 1st Person for Fallout.

Bethesda's game engine and animations would look much better from that POV.

Playing Wasteland 2 Director's Cut right now and the general layout is superior to Fallout 4 on almost every level.

You mean the straight-down isometric POV instead of over-the-shoulder?
????

I mean isometric vs whatever projection WL2 uses if it has a specific name.

Wasteland 2 is isometric dude, but it's more like Grand Theft Auto #1 when zoomed out all the way.

You are almost looking straight-down at your squad... With a 10-20* difference.

Why do you think the bird's eye view of Wasteland 2 is so bad?

It allows you to execute some pretty good tactical manuevers that a 1st person game like Fallout 4 doesn't allow.

What? It has nothing to do with Uncanny Valley, it has to do with the fact the body she's in IS biologically your granddaughter, and the personal mind of that granddaughter is essentially gone, meaning she's dead. Nothing to do about "oh meh gerd, robutz"

Which makes the entire move for romance ever the more "lolwut" when it comes to her.

Her body is of synth, not of your granddaughter.

Wasteland.
all synths are basically clones of your son.
Essentially. They use your son's DNA for all gen 3 Synths, which are made nearly entirely organic (you might as well say they're humans with synth components lodged into their cranium to control said synths), so technically speaking, all Gen 3 synths that you see are your grandkids/sons and daughters, so yes, bumping butts with someone of your relative genes is still incest, like it or not.

Boston may be a bit too far north, but isn't it socially accepted to boink relatives further south?

Although considering that Boston seems to be entirely made out of catholic Oirish and Italians, it would be more about happily fondling minors there...

Reminds me of a pal telling me: "To get the Curry quest in Vault 81, you have to grab the pussy of some 8 yo girl."

Where are they getting the Maternal Mithocondria? The mind boggles. I'm not sure you can clone women from a men.
Since the mitochondrial DNA is identical in all members of our species (barring mutations), it doesn't seem that hard to do. Although I'm not sure if you can clone women from a man either, but I suppose duplicating the X chromosome might do the trick. Getting the Y chromosome from X chromosomes on the other hand seems way more difficult

They could in Ass Effect 2! Miranda was a clone of her father, because he was perfect and she was perfect and aaaargh... thanks for reminding me of that turdiness again.

Bethesda made working elevators in Fallout 4 but I watched Hitman: Codename 47 video and you know what? They figured that out 15 years earlier.

Some people just can't into computing.

Are they literally applauding themselves because there are elevator mechanics in F4?

:?:?:?
I guess Bethesda just played a round of ME1 while one intern was doing all the writing, because they are just the same shitty loading screen disguises they were back in those days. Took me 5 mins to travel to the top of of building once because my harddrive was busy downloading patches I didn't order. I hope SSD owners at least get an express elevator for their moneyz.

I just uninstalled this game. I feel like I have deleted virus from my system. I didn't complete my secoind playthrough, mainly because Danse is retarded. If you act as devs expected you to then you won't see much retardness but when you shoot members of Brotherhood gone AWOL, say shit to high figures like Elder and that idiot says he is proud of you for believing in BoS ideals even when you sell kids to slavary, kill most people in random enounters and just act like maniac then I decided this isn't worth my time which I have already wasted enough. Especially since this game turns more and more boring with each hour.

I tried to RP as woman gone crazy because her husband was shot in front of her, witnessed nuclear war leading to end of the world, her son was kidnapped and she had to encounter shit like zombies or deathclaws. But nope, this game expects you to be knight in shining armor helping everyone along the way, playing fetch, etc. You can't even kill half NPC or act like unstable person. This isn't fun to play cliche villain that likes being bad cause reasons. Not many games let you rationalize why your character is an asshole, this game fails to even notice that.

You can't even act hostile towards children. Your character will always say things like "hi sweetie". Then you meet dumb meat in Bunker Hill which boasts that her mother runs infarmy every single time you pass her to sell junk.

You tried to "roleplay as woman gone crazy because her husband was shot in front of her, witnessed nuclear war leading to end of the world, her son was kidnapped and she had to encounter shit like zombies or deathclaws?"

There's your problem right there... How can anybody roleplay in Fallout 4 with the non-C&C dialogue wheels and terrible writing/setting in general?

You must have a very active imagination.

Still it's not isometric. Isometric projection is subtype of parallel projection. All lines are projected in parallel. Distant and nearer objects look same.

Almost all 3D pseudo-isometric games have in fact perspective projection (few exceptions: Prelude to Darkness, Depths of Peril). That's why distant objects look smaller than nearer ones.
