Not that I need a remake, Gothic I is great as is and forever will be But truth be told, this looks decent. Instead of stupid soulless eye-candy existing only to lure new buyers it does seem to build up on the original.Updated Screenshots of "Gothic 1 Remake" in Steam!

It doesn't matter if it's a remake, it has more potential than anything I saw in recent years. There will be nothing else to look forward to, so I'm looking forward to this. What hope? It's a remake, completely worthless. Gothic is easy to buy and play already. Now you'll be able to play a worse version of Gothic with bonus eye strain.
And all it takes is a set of eyes and 5 seconds experiencing what they already have and you see they really don't know or understand Gothics OG vibe. Every last part of it is gone. The importance of this game coming out being as close to the OG vibe will be fucking massive.
That's my point in a sense, and all I wanna see happen. If it achieves that it will be more than any other product has delivered. I don't care in what form the Reset comes as long as it does. This is the only thing that looks like it actually tries to pay attention to the Old WaysThe only good thing this remake can offer is to introduce some noob game designers who don't study older games to the glorious game design philosophy of Gothic 1, so they realize how exploration, difficulty curve, progression and building atmosphere should be done in RPGs. Some vestiges of all that is going to remain in the remake, because they're coded in the original game's DNA.
inb4 now the world is level scaledAs the biggest Gothic fan on this planet (outside of Germany and Eastern Europe), I consider this remake haram and proclaim all those who speak positively of it as heretics.

Which do you prefer, Gothic 1 or 2?As the biggest Gothic fan on this planet (outside of Germany and Eastern Europe), I consider this remake haram and proclaim all those who speak positively of it as heretics.

It's complicated. In a sheet in which I rate all the games I have finished, Gothic 2 is the only game I have rated 10/10 and Gothic 1 is a 9.5. (for comparison's sake, Fallout 1 is 9.6 and Curse of Monkey Island is 9.4).Which do you prefer, Gothic 1 or 2?As the biggest Gothic fan on this planet (outside of Germany and Eastern Europe), I consider this remake haram and proclaim all those who speak positively of it as heretics.
