Pretty funny how the occult skill dialogue options make people run away from you.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Just read on the Steam forum that your companions can't help you at all when it comes to skill checks and such, because of balance and replayabilty. I understand why I guess, but from a gameplay and "realism" perspective it is a bit weird. I was hoping the occult guy could help me get to talk to the dead with his newly learned occult skill, but nope... apparently only if I have learned the skill myself, which makes it totally pointless outside of combat.

Not even for lockpick or detect/set traps, nothing? The companions are just for pure combat??

That guy with the keys, he sells spells. He has like a summoning one, a possession one and some other stuff. Which one is good? They're also expensive, 400-500 cigs.

I'm not sure. It seems the woman I have with me detect stuff, but I can already see the stuff I can interact with, with the alt-key. So I have no idea.

Cool. Well there's two places to search. I found trick cards and nothing else. There's a greyed out option for subterfuge for all his magical shit but that's it, man.

There's more than 2 places to search. Remember you can hover over mundate items and get an eyeball icon that gives you text of what's there. Keep searching.

So, I wonder, is this game very short?

Didn't start playing it yet, just looked through the art book. If I were to go by the stuff listed there, it would point to a short short game. Or maybe a long one that recycles a lot of locations and monsters? Though I suppose the art book might only cover only a smart part of the stuff in the game.

So why the fuck does Outsider have the Stealth skill? Fucking retarded!

Btw I did have a companion comment on the dead horse using her Investigation skill. I have no idea if it had any tangible effect on the quest, though. Could have just been flavour.

Oh and as others have pointed out, companion skills can affect the game via the rest mechanic. So for example Outsider can research medical/occult stuff, which... I dunno, tells you what artifacts do. Skill not sure exactly which skills are useful and which aren't.

So anyone know how insanity works? I randomly become paranoid, not sure how, and now my guy is spouting out nonsense when it comes to dialogue. I even got into a fight I can't win thanks to it. Is there a way to cure it? But I'm mostly curious how it happened in the first place? I didn't drop sanity to 0 or anything and being paranoid shouldn't make a complete loon I think.
I had the same problem.

Alright, so how do I rest in Arkham? The Eel has a resident so I can't rent the room, and I'm not sure where else I could rest that doesn't involve leaving town to go to a world map destination. Is that what I have to do?
You can rest at the camp icons.

The resident at Eel will leave soon.

But is that where the transmitter is?

I remember i saw some part for the quest (transmitter maybe?) in the inventory of that junk merchant
That was a different part. The transmitter is supposed to be in a crate in the warehouse but I went through almost every room in there and couldn't see it. I think it might be the final room, where you're forced to fight 8 ghouls. I just don't see how that room is doable for most characters that aren't strictly focused on combat, like mine is.

If the transmitter IS in that room, then it's fucking shitty quest design.

I am a few hours in and it seems that range weapons are pretty useless. My female companion just spends the time sitting in the corner because of how low her weapon damage is. While my thug group beats the shit out of everything in front of them.

For the warehouse you could use occult check to make the ghouls kill each other. Also the last fight, the ambush is optional, you get some neat weapons from that crate tho.

Also the game runs perfectly fine on HDD ,the guy up there is just a retard or a troll lol.

You could open the safe and other shut boxes with a crowbar and athletics checks, you get the crowbar from the pawnshop,it is a weapon type.

Annoying thing i noticed is getting an insanity trait from nowhere. All that negative shit seems like forced shit to make it more "lovecraftian". It only messes up your screen and text during dialogue,it is just stupid mechanics.

yep as a ranged weapon user you have two choices:

keep shooting and miss a fuckton even with modded weapons

focus and shoot and do half the damage of a melee

focus has the potential to work better with heavy ap weapons but who knows
How does Focus even work? It improves your next turn?

In the demo my performer was able to get some for free because of high speechcraft, though it would make sense that the hoes would only let you sample the wares a few times before charging.
I got a grand total of ONE freebie, and that was with maxed Speechcraft and 10 Presence.

Is that one freebie per hoe or one freebie total?

morphine is really helpful for harder encounters
....
just spam sleeping on the streets while reading your belief book it s that simple. if you do that sanity is actually trivial, angst so far is trivial too since there are many options that don t punish at all

But doesn't each rest period consume one food for each party member and one camping supply or is that only when resting in the world map?
One freebie total. Yeah, I was pissed off too.
