Compared to modern games little is repetivie in Bloodlines and all interior maps are unique. But there are a lot of issues like they not fitting in the building from the outside and similar!

All the apartments in Skyline have the same layout. The interiors in the hotel at least /feel/ pretty repetitive. Same for Bishop Vic's digs and most combat areas (the downtown parking garage, the Sabbat nest, the Giovanni basement maze etc).

But this only makes sense, because flats in an appartment house have the same layout, as would one expect in a parking garage or a hotel. On the other hand why would small stand alone houses in different areas have exactly the same layouts?

If we play Batman or Prince of Persia, then maybe.
What the actual fuck is vertical oriented anyway? Was Novigrad vertical-oriented for these people? I hardly see how wall climbing can benefit dialogue-heavy RPG except for occasional breaking into buildings with evil concierge. Are they planning to create fully decorated apartments in all Seattle skyscrapers for you to perv or get into? I don't think so.

Climbing the walls just seems like such an unnecessary thing to promote about the game. Of course I can be seriously wrong, because we still don't know shit about this game, but this thing kinda bugs me.
Lol @ those who still think this is going to be an RPG. It isn't by definition in general, like Bloodlines, but that's not the point. It's going to be a modern console action game set in the WoD. At best a nu-Deus Ex clone with a vampire background. Only the writing can save it and I doubt they have what it takes.

Delterius yeah but it says guns are treated as temporary opportunities
Indeed! This is where things get weird: you get guns from enemies and many of the previewers talked about it being a more limited opportunity thing AND you can use points to be more of a gunslinger. Perhaps its only that the inventory is more limited.

I’m not disputing that. I am just pointing out that the areas are pretty simple compared to e. g. DX.

But was she a SJW-type leftist? She's like old-school (well, now they seem to be old-school) guerillafags who keeps AK-47 under the bed and believe that the Zapatista Army did nuthing wreng. Language police wasn't that important among leftists back then.

It still isn't. Liberals are the ones obsessed with language-policing, not leftists. (Although to be fair there are leftists who have been infected with that mind virus as well.)

(The confusion is understandable. Because "socialist," "Communist," or even "social democrat" were not acceptable for use in polite company in the US, everyone to the left of Dwight Eisenhower was dubbed "liberal," with a qualifier "progressive" applied to those a bit more to the left. In actual fact "liberals" included a whole bunch of different groups that really didn't have much in common at all. Nobody outside the US would even think of plonking Damsel into the same category as, say, Hillary Clinton.)

Liberals are pretty much forced to go with language policing. They can't admit that fascism is caused by their retarted fundamentalists free market policies, so they blame the symptoms of fascism as a cause of fascism. To notice what really causes fascism is to admit to be wrong, which they can't do because their whole identity is based on believes about free market.

I really hope that this was only true for the tutorial that they showed. Otherwise they would indeed take the gunslinger approach away and thus one more option!

But do we really want more options for options' shake above more linear but fun gameplay?

My guess would be that the gunslinger is more of a secondary skill, you can put some points into it if you want but it's used sparingly.

The official twitter responded on the "politically charged" issue. Doesn't mean much on its own, but at least they care about fans' concerns enough to answer.

Still worried about "mental illness problematic/punching up" stuff though.

I suppose there is a chance that this game could go full Sweden ala Wolfenstein: The New Colossus, but I don't think that's Paradox's style. They didn't get where they are today by being reckless.

If Redemption is an RPG, but Bloodlines isn't, then RPGs are a pretty fucking pathetic genre.
meh, most of that was down to Redemption's writing and popamolifying the ruleset to make it the wish fulfillment on rails "RPG" that it was.

if Bloodlines weren't an FPS, yes, it would be far more of an RPG.

like Deus Ex and countless other FPS/RPGs, it was an FPS with RPG elements.

and you know what, who cares?

Disagree on being an FPS somehow making a game less of an RPG.

yep, this goes to my point on that article where they tried to play up the politics angle. this is (mostly) about clickbait.

yeah, they SJW writer is worrying, but hopefully she'll be reigned in.

I don't mind political commentary if they use the setting as a way of expressing that, so long as it A) makes sense B) isn't DIRECTLY in your face about it, and B) the player can side against their views without a narrative slap for doing so.

Ok example: Androids are like slaves, commentary on what it means to be human, commentary on slavery, commentary on the holocaust. The player has the option to enslave the droids, free them or remain neutral.
Bad example: having actual black guys in the game screaming about white privelege, cultural appropriation, 400 years of slavery etc. The player has either no choice but to listen to it, or is punished for reacting negatively. Eg, the suffragettes in Red Dead.

Again, good example: a character is gay, you're free to react how you will, the game doesn't center on it, the character isn't forced in your face. Eg, the gay hunter in Witcher 3. You culd listen to his story or skip it, comfort him or basically tell him he's weird for being gay.
Bad example: A character is gay, he's a main character, he's constantly talking about being gay/bi/whatever, or even hits on the main character. Good luck getting rid of him. Eg, DA:Inquisition, where every other character was over the top gay or bi.

Unless it's Roots: The Game, or Good Times: The Game, or Milo Yianopolis The Black Dick Loving Homo: The Game, you shouldn't be beating people over the head with politics, giving them a long, forced narrative about political topics etc.

If they can control themselves, I will probably still be able to enjoy the game. If not, well, there's always "not physically removing it from an inventory" because I don't want to pay to be tortured, even if my wish to play a Vampire game exceeds my wish not to suffer LGBTBBQ politics.
