Does the random encounter with 3 "skin worms" have any C&C? Anything to lose out on if I kill them?
what level you were at that time. i encounter them as soon as got out from first village and beeing level 3 im im having difficulties killing 3 ants. i reloaded like 10 times when fighting that guy who worked with bandits. cant imagine fighting 3 humans

Lvl 6, with a rusty AK and Fidel.

Got lucky I guess, though they don't drop much loot.

How important are stats over 10? Are there many checks that high?

What level do you reach by endgame? Guessing the +20% XP is a big trap with the perk system.
A few luck ones and a Personality one, but for useless fun stuff only.

I'm undecided about if the game has too much text or not. On one hand it seems to atm take majority of my in-game time to go through, which I don't like as a rule. But on the other hand it's really good. I mean, there are some spelling errors and on rare occasions I get the feeling some Russian phrase was translated in an awkward manner so I'm not even sure what the line means, but it adds to the charm in a very good way. I'd go so far to suggest the devs to not even correct most of these things.
We're really trying to get rid of those. If you have some time, you can pop a screnshot into https://steamcommunity.com/app/552620/discussions/1/1744480966986084866/ we already took out a ton our editor missed.

THIS GAME HAS REFERENCE TO PIZZAGATE :):) And i swear i heard massive ammount of memes, Stuff Like Reference to Fallout New Vegas Etc.
Really? Can I ask why you think that? :----)
Would this run on a i5 surface pro? I don't have a proper pc now but I really want to play.

I ask because of the high ram requirements 8g sounds a bit much or I am just getting old.
My home computer is i5 with that graphics card that's just glued there from the start, that has no brand name, something along the lines of HD INTEL GRAPHICS CARD 50000 and I run it fine on medium settings. The cinematics ruin me tho so I got rid of them. Something in Unity hates straight forward video playback.

So, how buggy is the game now? Really want to play, but scared of gamebreaking stuff. My next stop on RPGs backlog is The Witcher 3, so if I start it, I will be back to the ATOM only after ~150 hours of gameplay:shredder:
Not as buggy as yesterday! But key binding and aimed shots changes are still on the way. We wanna make them good. So if you're a fan of rebinding, wait a bit.

Erm...how do you even defeat the
mushroom people inside their bunker?
I think I'm missing something.
You can always side with them... Or were you too much of a baddie?
P.S. Did you really think the skill checks were too steep? Not many players passed the game yet, but I think I can already start gathering feedback. What would you make it?

Are we talking about the showdown with the cult under the Gribnitsa HQ in KRZ? Because there doesn't seem to be any way other than killing them. (And I don't think I've done anything bad during the main quest. I think? I've tried to murder the ATOM operators in the bunkers, but the encounters proved to be impossible as well.)

And I don't think that 9-10 stat checks are too steep; it's actually perfect to have such hard checks near the end of the game. However, it would be nice to be able to kill the 7 bulletproof vest-clad troopers with machine guns in straight combat... Sadly, there're no Med-X or Psycho to punch through such a hellish encounter; and meldonium/KRZ doc's buff are not enough to get me through it. Even grenade spam (I had 70+ unspent points when I tried to do it, so I was able to pump throwing to 110+) didn't work since those bursts wound you for 40+ hp...
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anybody found Patryk (what kind of decadent western name its is) in Igograd/Krasno?
Patryk is Polish! He backed us big, so we made him into a crazy dude.

Atomboy is the mountain pass map and quests inspired by "Ronja, the Robber's Daughter" ? It looks really similar.
Another coincidence I'm afraid :( I know the material, but we never though of it while making the place.

Proof that game journos and SJWs don't play games, otherwise they'd have ripped Comrade Atomboy a new one
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

But RPS made such a nice article about Atom!.. You think they didn't find the circus?!

Is there a bug in Death Tunnel?
Dead stalker claims he written the code on wall but when I type 8696 or 0696 the doors won't open.

Also Comrade bataille must smoke some capitalist weed the story of ATOM RPG is not as complicated nor contrive its Fallout1 with some Russian folklore added (Lechy) and Lovecraftian themes still enjoyable but its not modern high art fagottery just well written hero journey monomyth. Also is Hexagon allusion to Solzhenitsyn and Pasternak?

Edit Yes the first number is 9 bit hard to see in dark tunnel.

Glad you figured the 9 out! Lighting can be like that. As for Hexogen, he really is A LOT of folks from all sides of the political spectrum. So much so, he isn't even a political statement. We stay away from that stuff. More like a combination of very different personali

ALSO someone (who's post I yet again cannot find) asked us about portrait copyright. The thing is we sometimes use likeness of an IRL person as a homage / sign of respect. When the homage with the likeness is ready but not yet available in game, we email for permission and assure that one word from the person who doesn't like our homage will make us wipe said homage out of existence. So far, so good.
3 or 5 or even more times we got a famous (yet unknown to us) person by pure accident while rummaging through so-called stock images. These guys are now in a huge line and will be redrawn asap to look like randos. I'm not much into modern stuff, so I don't know any better, unfortunately.

Yeah, exactly! When we wrote that final Morozov dialogue you could:

- Side with cult
- Let cult do what it wants but leave you out of it
- Make cult stop the plan and just live on without making zombies
- Kill cult

I'll run a few tests. Maybe some flaw got into the workings.

I don't know about Morozov; I'm stuck at the very first encounter in their bunker. Looks like you're thinking about an encounter a bit further (or maybe the mustache guy labeled 'Gribnik' IS Morozov?..
Anyway, this is what hell looks like:

Even If I get 5 of them knocked down with grenades, the remaining just shred through my party like it's papier mache...
And no, Fidel with the experimental rifle isn't enough...

Some high tier cqc items might pop up in time.
Would be really cool if you could add armored metal glove with good chance for knock up and some DR bonus (not high-tech power fist but a unique item).

Maybe punching daggers?
Same for melee. It was okay for me, when I had 4 folowers, but you will never be as good as a machinegunner or a sniper.
The main problem with melee is that you need to get close to enemy. The last perk in the melee tree boosts you sequence by a lot but it is pointless for such an expensive ability. Make it -1 AP to melee attacks and melee specialists will be much more viable.

We actually have this thing in the game-files, but forgot about it \ didn't test it too much:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-Qzmil--VU

It's called a Sedgley Punch Gun. Ian Gun Jesus McCollum told me there were just 100 or so made for the English Navy way back when, so might have to do with some irradiated Crimean war museum heist in a DLC. More practical melee \ punch things are also on the way.

Maybe you have something for me?
Will you rework the "Posessed" trait? +1 STR -1 INT -1 CHA seems like a bad deal. The trait description mentions that you don't feel as much pain as before so maybe add some natural head & body DR?
If you could, would you let them eat with you and gain HP as you do? That always seemed too easy to be in the game, but nowadays, I don't even know!
Yes but each companion should consume the meat individually. If you got less meat than companions then the one with the most HP will skip the meal (if HP is the same - its random).

Also you should separate human meat from regular meat in this case somehow. Otherwise, canibal trait will be OP. It also doesn't make sense (your party can see where the meat is coming from).

The meat separation and some other nuances (like if you have 4 people and 3 meat - nobody gets to eat? Or should we make some sort of a system where you pick who's eating tonight? Etc, etc that stopped us from going that route in the first place. Figuring it out is up for the prog guys right now. I can only run around and pray it works okay.

The Posessed thingy is pretty harsh on the stats, I agree, but there are at least 10 times this skill may save your life. And more of those are planned. I actually wanna make Posessed as much as a playable route as Talkative or Machinegunner.
Some DT+ wouldn't hurt I guess, tho. I'll share your ideas with the men, as I always do with codex ideas, and we'll see where it's gonna take us!

Make the Codex Great Again!
Atomboy I normally don't ask for spoilers, but I already sank 9 hours into my character, and I really don't want to re-roll a new one, so here goes: other than the firearm perk, is there a way to increase Strength so that I can at least use a rifle that's not the pipe rifle without taking a penalty?

1. Dima's steel helmet.
2. Coffee.
3. KRZ's doctor buff.
4. The experimental serum from under the Grokhotschuschiy (phew) Les.
5. The Golden Fish that you can catch in a lake.

Maybe there's more?

Now I gotcha. We'll lower PERSONALITY check to 8 in the future. It actually has 4 ways of avoiding it... But 2 of them are Kickstarter backers only lol. Something is pretty wrong with burst weapons, man ;( Maybe we'll do something about them too. I for one had no problem with VIL-a but these guys are just evil. I'll keep in touch on the further changes.

2 more: Sacrifice to the Totem in the Forest, and solving the strange metal cube puzzle in Dead City.

Atomboy where is the third sample for the bunker in the mountain? I have the afgan snuff box and the purple liquid.

The two liquids are in very close proximity to the mixing machine. Like, in neighbouring rooms. I can't tell you exactly where they are, but they can be spotted on some furniture, I guess, with the ALT key.

The wombat isn't bad. The character system is horrible tho, it's not pillars of eternity bad, but it's close.

I've beaten the game.
The ending was kinda abrupt...
Decent game.
Mushroom told me about piano in the bushes. I though like whatever and walked away. The game ended. Didn't even get an achievment for that.
At some point I nuked some coordinates but reloaded. Maybe I should've nuked it and seen what happen to the end.
Honestly, game feels a bit watered down stylistically. Like a bit abrupt and not as constistent/ideologically dense as fallout even though maybe it tries to do some social comentary, but mostly jokes and attractions like in attraction park. Good try, will buy next product. I liked powerful rifle form happy bunker, but I wish more heads exploded. Weapons felt kinda weak, especially against armored dudes (aka mid/late game bandints). Like you need several machinegun automatic fire attacks to kill them. Makes combat feel weak/non-lethal. I am not even talking about melee weapons. Machete is super underwhelming. Powerrifle is only weapon which feels powerful but I think ther is only like 7 rounds for it in the game.

Sacrifice to the Totem
Gave me luck and not str, does it depend on the thing you put in?
So it's only luck now? Okay, then it means only the cube is left on the list!

Hey! Thanks for the small review! Well, the combat (exploding heads included) will be modified with a patch, something about bursts too, hopefully. So if you'll ever get stuck with a craving for more soviet Wastes, you'll find a slightly more balanced game with more options.

With the ending - we did it more or less on purpose. At the beginning I wanted a hand to hand fight on a huge statue of Lenin. But then I noticed that every single piece of entertainment media always ends with a hand to hand fight on a giant statue of Lenin more or less, so I poured my pathos into the Death Gang fights, and we made the ending like it is.
It nicely ties the knots, you find out what the Hesperus star was all about, why the mushrooms are there, and so on, it makes a nice little "There will be a sequel" wave. and you soooort of get the standart "Turns out the whole world is in danger and you're the only one who can stop it" but you also don't. Very, very much "don't".
At least that was the idea.

Atomboy I'm having an issue where the game crashes whenever I go to Krasnoznamenny's bunker. After a couple of seconds down there, the screen goes black and I have to alt+f4. Tried verifying files, reinstalling, changing graphical settings... got nothing. Only bug I found so far, hope it's nothing hard to fix.

Wait, wtf, difficulty level affects number of ability points
That's really bad design
Right, sorry, I missed that post when I was giving all the answers. Well yeah, we decided to make it as hardcore as possible. Nowadays the whole ability point thingy is on the editing table again, since we get so many complaints, but we pretty much thought less perks make for a harder experiece! Don't they?

Weird... Never had that one reported.
Okay, so here's an easy way and a harder way.

1. Try again, but when all goes black push ESC a few times and wait for 30-50 seconds. If nothing - do step 2.
2. Go to your atom folder (\AppData\LocalLow\AtomTeam\Atom) get the output_log and recent save file, and send it together with the text of your post to support@atomrpg.com
That way the progs will see it and fix it asap!

When/where will I get another mule companion, after Fidel? Running out of bag space.

If there's a location to bee-line to would appreciate to know.
