When bartering, is there a way to set a specific amount of gold without the use of slider? Which is a pain to use when needing 327 (for example), out of my 1851...

There is orange button above trading inventory space that will match gold your or shopper to what is in trade inventory

There is a button you can hit at the middle top that will balance the remaining disparities of the bargain with gold.

Oh man I LOVE this engine! This is exactly how the NWN engine should have been, with proper :obviously: turn based combat. And no transitions between outdoor and indoor areas. That was such a bad design decision for NWN. But I have no idea why they did that (could have been computer limitations back in the day).

- So i was out of fire arrows and no fire spell or weapon with fire effect... enemies are standing in oil. I think i think and i think and i almost gave up... Then i throw candle into oil like in fucking PnP game and it fucking worked ! Systems in place are amazing !

I believe alpha or beta testers mentioned that this doesn't work, and guess Larian listened and incorporated it. Kudos!

Yeah i was surprised because i tried to move candle in EA and i couldn't do it. Now beside few things almost everything is movable as long as you have strength to do it

Game in case of level loading isn't that much different to NWN. Sure you can go into house without loading but you can't go to basement, cave, 1st floor without loading different space not connected in any way to previous space. For example you can't sneak in on 1st floor continously and for it to work designers need to put people far away from stairs ladders and so on.

Buy yeah engine is lovely and i hope Larian will soon upgrade it and remove other limitations.

I think you can make magic scroll with essences.
Not sure, but I believe I have read that somewhere

Game is polished sure, but I am dissapointed that with all the support developers should have had from gamers, I only see color-blind friendly circles, on/off helmets and flexible amount of quick saves. Meanwhile, inventory is shitty, clicking from character to character does not switch their skill bars, taking item icon from bar makes it drop on the ground (guess it's for usable item, but still annoying), there is no itentify-all, no repair-all, no way to quickly craft items (except pots) and so on.

And since I hit level 10, I am constantly switching between skill bars.

Yeah, I didn't understand what Lone Wolf does exactly with regards to party build.

Starting with your two characters, Lone Wolf does not force one out of the party.

Does it prevent NPCs from joining like the wizard and knight you find in the starting town, or does it only apply to hall of heroes NPCs?

Also, I have not yet been able to craft anything despite having skill points and a ton of mats. Granted, I haven't sunk too much time into trying to find out yet because of everything else I am doing in the game, but I kind of wish it was a little more open. What I mean, is it something I do WITHIN my inventory, or is is an interface that will be opened up later in the hall of heroes. Trying to double click on stuff to combine them, like arrow heads with arrow shafts so far has been non-productive. Not a complaint, just not something I have sunk any time into really.

Each main character can invite another joinable NPC. With Lone Wolf that is removed for that character. So if you have one Lone Wolf, you get a 3 member party, with 2 lone wolf, 2 member party.

Crafting is just dragging items on your inventory into other items. Like nine inch nails on a stick = weapon, things like that. There's recipe lists out there if you want to spoil yourself.

Anyone found a use for the high-end ingredients, like essences, the various gems and tormented souls etc?

I found one recipe that seems to hint at using some soul as a crafting ingredient for a sword.
Not exactly sure what it's supposed to do in the end, but it sounded interesting.

You need to drag n drop each item manually on each other with a mouse.
Sometimes inside inventory (try dragging arrow head on arrow shaft), sometimes in the world (iron ore on smelter, iron bar on anvil).

I was having a miserable experience with this game. I wanted to love it, but there were some technical things that just screwed it up for me. So, I started from scratch, made a few important changes, and I'm now loving it. Here are a few tips for people who are going to be starting soon that might greatly improve your experience:

* Turn on the AI for your second character. Making all the decisions yourself is boring as hell. I enjoy when my second character disagrees with me and we have to roleplay out a decision. To make it really interesting, give them a "random" AI. I made the mistake of not realizing what the AI was for the first day I played. Don't overlook it.

* If you dislike how the camera is handled, disable the option for the camera to move when you hit the edges of the screen. While it's useful to have it on for a few things, most of the time it really becomes a distraction when you accidently pull the camera when you didn't mean to and have to reset your camera to track the movement of your party. When you disable it, the camera follows you around as you move in a more natural way and it doesn't pull you out of the experience. (Some people will be fine with how the camera is handled, and won't need this). This fixed a world of headaches for me.

* Turn on the option to allow for full rotation of the camera. Ignore the warning. I haven't noticed any artifacts, but it has made the experience 100x better by allowing me to view things from multiple angles.

* Turn down the voices. Seriously. Save yourself the headaches.

These changes have vastly improved my gaming experience. While not everyone would want to do these things, some players may find a better balance by implementing a few of these things. In closing, I cannot stress enough how important it is to utilize the AI for your second character.

Perfect! Thanks for explaining. I might have to go restart again, Lone Wolf and Pet Pal!

That reminds me of the one issue I have with the game so far, some auto start conversations will ignore who I have selected as party leader, which is normally where I dump all my talky skills. Now I find myself having to give both of the main characters talky skills.

For example:
when i teleported into Ceclia's bathroom, it kept randomly selecting between my two main characters to talk to her, but only one had charisma, which is needed for the RockPaperScissors mini game.

my only minor nit pick so far.

So the choice is between LARPING or role-playing a schizophrenic enabler?

give your talker the pyrimad and separate from the others, teleports on their own.

Imo it is way more interesting than book with list menu recipes.

Crafting is supposed to be "shit, things, fun". Streamlining crafting only leads to downscaling fun it creates.

For example currently if you want to make Pizza

wheat + mortar = flour
flour + water = dough
dough + tomato souse = pizza dough
pizza dough + manually putting it in furnace/owen = pizza

which is fun instead of

wheat + water + tomato (with mortar and standing near oven) = pizza.

which is boring as fuck. And if it would be some recipe list then it would be super boring.

Well the Things you create are mostly Shit so I guess it works as intended then. As for Fun, it's only fun when you look at it as a concept. If you actually want to manage and create items for common use, it becomes a boring chore quickly. The only good thing about the system is that it rewards player for experimenting, sort of.
But then a crafting window with recipes poping if you do things right would also serve that purpose.
