He said none of the early enemies felt like a threat to him on normal difficulty at https://youtu.be/svObtEUhXLU?t=120 and once again that he only played through the opening missions and didn't have the chance to try different difficulties at https://youtu.be/svObtEUhXLU?t=574. I'll just assume that normal is easy, easy is game journalist, hard is normal, and hope for more beyond that for the time being.

He's right to be concerned, but judging the difficulty of a game based on the introductory tutorial is a bit daft. They're not going to overwhelm you with enemies on hour 1 of what they say is a 20-30 hour game.

I'm assuming that once the criminals get bigger guns or you have to face off against other cyborgs, or the ED 209s...

the game will get appreciably harder.

Looks like reimagined RoboCop 3 from 1991.

Skip to about 8:45 to see the Robo-gameplay.

If they didn't purposefully made the demo stupidly easy as to not give the the game journo some booboos.

About the game, I'm really enjoying the more "analogue" feel of the HUD, which makes sense for what they are trying to achieve. This ain't the ultra violent gorefest Judge Dredd game we should be giving, but I'm hopeful.

I did enjoy Terminator: Resistance for what it was worth, flawed as it may be.

Perhaps it will be the next thing? As for this game, it looks promising. Difficulty should ramp up once the bad guys start using bigger guns, EMP guns/devices or use giant magnets against you. That one would be cool although I'm not sure how it would be implemented gameplay-wise. Your HUD goes haywire and you have a limited time before you're pulled into the magnet and disabled?

Even the heavy gun that Murphy used in first game to wreck ED-209 at the end. And if I remember right they picked that weapon from the gang just before that scene so after a while random gang member start to pose some threat to Murphy.
Any .50 caliber can be deadly against Murphy, not that hard to manage in game.

i love how the whole world acts as if the robocop remake had never happened.

the game looks rather dull, with almost no content to offer. less than your average fps which has no content to offer.

It's good that they're focusing on more than just shooting. Not just because variety is nice, but also because the combat looks like it can get old real fast. They said you can't take weapons you find with you in between missions, which has me worried. Starting each mission with just your standard gun sounds boring. I also don't like that you have infinite ammo for it. And regenerating health is fucking shit. Surely there was a better way of handling your survival during missions.

In order for the combat not to get stale, the game needs to give you access to a wide range of firearms to find (and fucking keep) and cool skills to unlock. I also like meaningful resource managment, so infinite ammo for your main gun and automatic health regen grinds my gears.

Also, those dialog options that they boast about need to lead to different endings and have proper C&C, and not just for sidequests.

Judging by the end of the trailer, there's probably going to be some "humanity meter" that shifts based on your choices in the game that affect Murphy becoming more human or more robot-like, maybe a different ending based on that.

I don't know about this, it looks very yanky and rough, combat looks like it might get way too repetitive real fast with static enemies standing in one place waiting to get shot (although I guess that is like in the film). Terminator: Resistance was a positive surprise as a smaller budget title, but this doesn't give the same vibe, although Terminator probably didn't look that great in trailers either.

Positive things are clear love and respect for the source material like Weller in his legendary role for most likely the last time and art-wise it looks like the movie. Environment destruction from bullets and gore are nice touches. Ehhh, It'll be interesting to hear some actual thoughts about this one.

Really? Doom pistol starts or Blood pitchfork starts are way more interesting and fun to play than when you carry over your giant arsenal and cheese the level.
