I've been jonesing to play this again someday. Sasha was my ice queen waifu. It's too bad the online was dead even shortly after the game dropped, because the huge arena battles were really really fun.

I never even got to play this game online. It's a damn shame. Besides that, a remaster also seems to be very unlikely because of how hard this game flopped + bad mood between devs and publisher during developement. Game is a super fun brawler, and I love the character design of almost every character. Mathilda is just pure sex.

If this game, by some divine intervention, ever gets a remake, I am definitely going to buy 15 copies of it and distribute them here on the dex for some mp action.

BROs, finished Resident Evil - Code Veronica (Dreamcast version).

And it was as bad even worse than I remembered from my 1st playthrough couple years ago.

Pros:

- Basic "fixed camera" gameplay still works,
- Decent puzzles,
- Difficulty is significantly higher than in BH 1-3, which is generally nice, except when it's not (fighting 2-3 hunters at once every time).

Cons:

- Abysmal script, writing, VO, retarded characters and general decline when compared to previous games, which were cheesy, but not offensively retarded,
- Steve and Alex are the two worst characters in the entire series. Whiny emo boys / trannies with constant baawww / mwahaha lines. Thank god both of them die painfully.

- Retarded design decisions like submarine used as a lift, etc.
- "Love can bloom on the zombie-infested military base!". No it can't, you fucks. We're shooting zombies and solving puzzles here.

- 3D engine is shit, so game looks like brown/green shit.

- High difficulty partialy comes from artificial HP bloat (dogs take now 2-3 shots to go down) and problems with auto-aim, hitboxes, etc. Way too often your shots miss for no apparent reason.
- Adding fog was a great fucking idea. Or maybe it's broken in Flycast...

- Claire's haircut and flat ass.

- Game is way too long and becomes painfully boring. Having to replay both locations as Chris is a waste of time and feels much worse than concepts used in BH 1 & 2.
- Suddenly Wesker, who unleashes >9000 hunters upon Chris and then GTFO suddenly. Why was he even in the game?

- Poorass bonus modes.

- Adding elements from Dino Crisis or Silent Hill didn't work.

Verdict:

:2/5: & the worst game in series so far (0, 1 Remake, 2, 3). GDI images removed, HDD space saved.
Thank god only 2 more games left (RER1 & RER2), since everything else in this heavily declined series can be skipped.

If you want to know what went wrong with gaming on the turn of the century, play RE2 and then RE:CV.
