It's all right to copy Fallout but the inventory was kind of crappy even then.

1. Keep repeating that Fallout is perfect despite a ton of problems due to selective memory, nostalgia and fanboysm.

2. Praises Atom RPG for imitating Fallout design, which is retarded because this will involve the bad stuff (cargo cult).

3. Now player criticises some of the same features that made Fallout what it is, while others defend said features for the same reason.
nobody around here has claimed fallout is perfect. The fuck are you talking about?

It might be a small thing but each NPC having a little portrait all for himself makes the game better for me, it's a nice touch

The Experimental rifle ammo can't be bought from store though, so it's a very limited use.

The Vintorez damage is average, the main selling point is the 4AP for Aimed Shot & Burst, enabling 8AP characters to burst twice. It also has a range accuracy bonus and short range penalty, which most people shouldn't really care about, why? Because it still has 'medium' range like most automatic weapons. The biggest downside is the cost and slight rarity of its ammo. The AK74 gets cheaper & plentiful ammo while doing 1 point of less damage.

I hit level 9 on Survivor. I really don't think the achievement of hitting level 30 in Survival is that fun, so I might not go that high after all.

I cleared Roaring forest caves - killed everything there but to my disappointment there is no loot? But ammo is starting to be a non-issue, so the easy EXP is very welcome.

There is a very easy and safe way to earn combat XP and loot with a high Sequence. How to do this?
Go out to world map. Click on rest. Then stand as close as you can to the exit point.

Rest for an hour. If the game alerts you that you heard something, that means enemy has entered the zone. Now select your weapon so the red highlights appear around the target.
Scan the map for the hostile and engage if you wish.

Sometimes they will spawn on top of you, this is why you should stand as close as you can to exit point and have a good Sequence to escape unwanted encounters.

I don't think I'll even hit level 20, it's just too much combat exp required to achieve that. Since this is ironman I'll just try to be as safe as I can when doing stuff. I took on the Strategist baddies with the three mercs, one of them died but I did not get to loot his body? Oh well. Should've treated that girl to cigarettes.

Also sometimes the pulse quicken when my slave runs in the wrong direction in combat and you cannot direct her anywhere even when it's your turn. Can the developer please add a dialogue to force her to follow commands in combat? I don't want her to fight, I just want her to stay put at a place of my choosing!

Other near death encounter is when I stood too close to radiated area and cannot move due to encumbrance! Luckily my slave carries some cow milk to cleanse radiation. It was a close thing.

Do the pistols that have burst mode worth the cost until you get an assault rifle?found a stechin for 6 grant in kresno and i have a hoard of 9 mm ammo.

The big deal about Pistols & SMG variants is how accessible the ammo is, but a Pistol/SMG for 6000 rubles? Nope. Unless you count 2AP regular / 3AP aimed shots with Nagant after blowing 3 perks is something to celebrate about. Then you're a Pistol specialist. I made a mistake of giving Fidel that perk and I felt he was underperforming through the whole game. In my Survival run, I gave him the SKS rifle and he did way better.

A bit lost on where to go now, I'd been helping Dan at the factory and got up to the quest after the election where you need to deal with another bandit boss.
Asking around I find out that he's at a container yard so I go there and convince him to leave.

I returned to Dan who attacked me after I wouldn't tell him who told me about the container yard (I think), so now he's dead and I have his gun and ring but the quest is still in my journal to talk to him.

I've just been wandering around since and found a car and done a few side quests but the combats getting tougher, any encounter with 3+ enemies is usually a bit dicey as I can't deal much damage with my pistols anymore.

Any hints on where I'm actually meant to be going? I tried the Bunker but everything inside looks to be locked

Did you get a necklace in the bunker? Once you got it, then you should talk to Fidel and he'll give you two options on how to proceed.

Does the witcher perk worth the ability points cost?

It's like a guaranteed critical vs muties/animals, and muties are one of the most annoying enemies there is. Kill them before they get a chance to lifesteal.

What's the consensus? Sounds really good from skimming through the thread.
Should I way to buy? Are there any fixes needed or upcoming patches or GOTY version planned?
Or can I start playing right away?

Wait, you can give the scrapyard car to him? The Pobeda? The car Kovalev got from me was the Moskvich at Dan's factory. He even asks for a Moskvich IIRC. And that one needed to be towed by a truck caravan. The Scrapyard car you can literally drive away with yourself.

Eh nvm misread.

It just shows how fucked up the american rpg industry has become. Compare this to deadfire's npc portraits stolen from some teen's notebook.

nobody around here has claimed fallout is perfect. The fuck are you talking about?
No, but many times in this thread when someone dared to criticise some obvious flaws that were inherited from Fallout, people immediately dismissed these concerns as non-issues or defended them saying that it is just like Fallout.

No,most people agree that some elements have aged poorly. Like the inventory, some skills, part of the combat etc etc.

Standin' pretty. In this dust that was a city.
Finally had the time to play the game and I must admit it's pretty great. If I had to choose a single bone to pick, it's the lack of direct control over party members, especially since there's an indirect system of orders in place anyways.

Also it's sad that Personality remains a dump stat. I played around 8h with 7 Personality and now I'm doing a second play through with 1, and while, sure, it's easily noticeable that most people won't talk to me about themselves, it's ultimately irrelevant since any actual choice situation gets resolved using Speechcraft anyways.

On the other hand, can someone tell me how the fuck are you supposed to deduce the code for Bunker 317 safe?
The 9731 one.
Is it connected to that King and pauper bullshit and I'm supposed to find it in Mark Twain? Or was it just an anagram of 1937 which is mentioned as a memorable date in one of the books. I just need to know the logic behind this.
