The quest title is "Killing in the Name", and it apparently requires you to have progressed through the side-quests in which you meet Kerry Eurodyne and assemble Johnny's old band for one last gig, as only through this will you meet Nancy (a.k.a. Bes Isis) who will properly initiate this quest.

I've done this and the concert, but never got the quest to progress further. Bummer.

I've done a few more quests for Kerry which never triggered in my first run for some reason.

Just got into Act 2. I haven't noticed anyone else mentioning this: has anyone else avoided pursuing the main quests and found the Johnny Silverhand interactions just... off? Like the only interaction we've had is him telling me to kill myself and that he'll take control of me. Then I'm walking around and he's just chatting like we're buds. It is really throwing me off, honestly.

Call Nancy or whats her name after the concert. That worked for me.

Yeah, I believe the quest specifically updates to tell you when it's possible to progress. Before you finish the concert quest it just says wait until Nancy is available or something similar.

It's like the systems were done by many different team that never spoke with each other, and then slapped together and shipped
Reminds me of the clothing shops:
If you want to buy better versions of V's golden pants, those are "Saeki" brand or smth. Like the netrunner jacket.
One would think you buy those at the, you know, just a thought, SAEKI SHOP.... amirite?

WRONK. AGAIN!

Regardless how often you reload, Saeki will never sell Saeki brand clothes. Those are in the corpo tower vendor's list. :hahano:

I swear the team spent 7 years building a beautiful city... and carefully putting empty pizza boxes and dildos in every alley. But when the bossman told them to wrap it up, they panicced and created millions of sloppy bugs, oversights and rushed braindead decisions, all of them going to THE_LIST to be fixed later. But since the game has so many problems... they probably never will. Sad.

I am not saying the game needed more time. What I am saying is the project leader should find a new dayjob, because he is worse than the STALKER guy. And they went adrift making high res photos of car's pedals for every wreck on the road.

The game feels like hard sequence breaking if you play stuff not in the order "CDPR envisioned".
Going to the diner right away followed by "automatic love" has a few conversations of V calling Johnny out on being all nice and buddy now. After that you can dick around as you please and Johnny's behaviour makes at least a little more sense.

Hmm, more than once I've wondered why you can't have a beefy body option, like the "huscle" that's everywhere in the game. If I'm a character focussed on Body, brawling, manhandling heavy weaponry, etc.,, surely it makes sense that I'd have a visual to match?

I just realized: if they'd have done that, they'd have had to have provided "Sasquatch" type models for the females too, and that would have opened up a whole can of worms.

Yep. I recommend reading the Cyberpunk wiki entry on him, particularly the notes part:
  • People in the streets of Night City may be heard commenting on his existence through random banter. The common assumption is that he is always there, watching.
  • He seems to fit the vague description of the "overlords" from Alpha Centauri that Gary the Prophet warns people about. Gary also mentions that the "overlords" wear synthetic skin to hide their true nature. This revelation plays into Johnny's theory that these are vessels for AIs.
  • He cannot be properly interacted with or harmed.
  • During the Path to Glory prologue V can read messages from someone named "Mr. B" about the Crystal Palace heist.
  • According to the game files Mr. Blue Eyes's hair is labeled as Morgan Blackhand, who disappeared in 2023 after a brawl with Adam Smasher during the Arasaka assault led by Johnny Silverhand. Morgan Blackhand was also funded by Militech to attack Arasaka HQ.
  • In the Dream On mission, it is revealed that Jefferson Peralez has had his brain modified to such an extent that his memories, behavior and psyche can be manipulated by Mr. Blue Eye's organization. If V had romanced Panam, it is revealed during dialogue that it is important that he completes his last final gig in Night City for Mr. Blue Eyes and his organization.
  • If V decides to decode Sandra Dorsett's shard during a Thief mission they can learn about Night Corp's effort to brainwash and control its employees through a rogue AI, which is similar to Peralez's predicament during Dream On.
  • During Gary the Prophet's final mission, V will spy on Maelstrom's meeting with unaffiliated men-in-black "Jane Doe" and "John Doe" where they try to deliver a suspicious shard. To complete the drop-off the Maelstrom agents have to recite a poem of "Patricide". If V steals the shard and decodes it, they will be given a cryptic message which actually reads "PROJECT ORACLE. COMMAND. EXECUTE PLANS". After completing the mission, Gary is nowhere to be found and one of his devout followers will explain that "Blue Eyed People" took him away.
  • When V finally catches up to the surveillance van in Dream On, operated by Mr. Blue Eyes's Organization, the driver is nowhere to be seen. Instead they have to fight through Maelstrom members to get close to the surveillance van. If V instead looks toward the roof they can see a non-affiliated figure in combat gear run towards a camouflaged AV and escape while they fight Maelstrom off.
  • It is possible for rogue AIs to enter the real world through vessels as evidenced by the summoning of the AI named Lilith by Maelstrom, giving credence that "Blue Eyed People" actually are rogue AI vessels ("reptiles in human skin") as foretold by Gary the Prophet.
  • Gary the Prophet can listen to plans of "Blue Eyed People"'s plans through the restricted radio waves because of a faulty chip implant. It is revealed during the Dream On mission that Mr. Blue Eyed's organization uses dated Militech equipment and surveillance vans to transmit directed radio bursts to avoid interception.
  • Gary mentions how "Blue Eyed People" live in space and come down to Earth to control politicians.
  • The Crystal Space heist is not about stealing eddies, but customer data which suggests it is part of a larger scheme.
  • It is revealed Mr. Blue Eyes surveyed V during the Arasaka assault and sent his men during the chaos to steal equipment. During the Path to Glory ending, V can be seen using a stolen Arasaka space shuttle and suit.
  • Mr. Blue Eyes can be seen in the Cyberpunk 2077 reveal trailer, drinking a beverage while someone across him catches on fire in an Orbital Air vessel. This section is set in an Orbital Air transport which has yet to appear in final game and could be material from any future DLC set during the Crystal Palace heist. During the Path of Glory prologue V can see several ads and logos for Orbital Air during the AV segment.
  • It is possible Mr. Blue Eyes goal is to control the commercialization of space due to his vehement interest in controlling Night City's politicians and corporate entities who deal with ESA and the Night City Space Port. In the Corpo lifepath, Arasaka kills off ESA board members to prevent a leak from blowing up in their faces, foreshadowing space's importance in the Cyberpunk universe.

So "The Hearts of Bytes" expansion coming ?

Notice also that he doesn't seem to have any implants on him. I am guessing this is elaborate Easter Egg toward Pondsmith quote how in his mind vampires control NC actually due to his love for VMTB.

Aaaargh NOOOOOOO!!! Nothing bores me to death more than fucking vampire twaddle, I really, really hope that's not the "big reveal" re. this.

I would prefer to believe that his implants are so super-high tech and designed by advanced AI from beyond the Blackwall that they leave no visible traces on the body :)

:hmmm:

One of the radios you can listen to in-game has a talk segment in which the host reads a listener mail ranting about how Saburo Arasaka and other members of global elite are actually vampires, so who knows...

Must have been a Garry mail. Also, the quest you do for Garry.

Then there's the
Blackhand connection
but that hinges pretty much on a file name.
Edit: Only now read last post. Yeah, that would be the best reveal.

I meant there's actually a mini-quest connected to it.

I guess he may have noticed that the goals of bringing you to "kill yourself" and "taking control of you" don't gel. He just needs to wait it out and win by default, but that also means not to damage the goods.
