Alright. Been playing for what, 10-15 hours during the last 2-3 days.
Only one crash to desktop when I quicksaved, fortunately game autosaved like a minute beforehand. And I had a bug where 3 of my chars died in a explosion, when reviving them only the armor rose from the dead and chars remained invisible. Pretty lulzy but not really playable.
I saved and reloaded and they loaded fine.

I like it. Like the combat, like the overall lack of handholding and I like the occasional lulz you get from the game. Its pretty addictive.
It forces you to think a bit cause in a regular fight mano-a-mano with no enviroment abuse you will lose. I like it that the encounters are more even in terms of abilities, there's always a mage or two buffing, you're always outnumbered and when they hit you, it hurts. :incline:
Also its fun experimenting different tactics, I've come up with some pretty cool crowd control combos without the game telling me shit. Another :incline:.

One thing I want to complain about is item overload, there's a fuckton of shit I could care less about. Inventory minigame is getting a bit on my nerves.

So yea, me like.

While i am here , found 2 game breaking bug in act 2 . Dont do the immaculate trial quest before the white witch quest, ...

So, before...
...joining the immaculates, we should try to get the barrier around Witch's house down? Hints in game made it sound like we should join them and then get some info on White Witch...

yes the game is not very clear making it much easier to join immaculates first but tis wrong, barrier first.

As for starting at level 1, I assume that's a bug. Dismiss them, and re-hire them again - they should gain the exp to match yours, then, and you will be able to distribute their skill/attribute points however you want.

Can confirm this works. I had same problem and fixed it doing what Bee recommends. Thanks, Bee!

what happens exactly? i completed temple of trials before WW and just finished mines, nothing seems to have gone wrong.
I fear that it might not update correctly, after freeing her she asks you to go to mine, you get another quest item at end , then she ask you to join the immaculates .

I'm ashamed to say that I've developed an unhealthy tendency to pickpocket and steal everyone and everything, I'm sure I would've long since finished with Cyseal if it wasn't for this. :negative:

How is this an unhealthy or shameful tendency?

Remember to steal wash basins, they sell for 10 coins each.

Heya Kodex. Just got back from Family July 4th Biz and now that I am home, I got just ONE thing on my mind...

and that is, does the Kodex still love Divinity: Original Sin?

and actually one more thing. Where the hell can I get more lockpicks and trap disarming tools?!

Hammer Nine inch nails. Plenty of merchants can carry it too.

Oh, and I still love the game.

Fighting later game enemies is a positively terrifying experience. Fucking
death knights
make my mages eat their bathrobes with 2 hits of a sword. Aero survives a bit more because of Become Air.

Witch does 1000 damage with Death Punch. Almost like Finger of Death from BG.
But her best spell I found is Soulsap. It lowers all enemy stats for just 1 turn, but yeah, all of them - even resistances to elements. Just wait for the right moment and la nuke the shit out of enemy. She also has the best all around summon in the game in my opinion.

it updates on my quest list as her asking you to infiltrate them and find...whatever...mangoth smth. so far nothing seems broken, will report after finishing the infiltration. fairly certain it'll be alright tho
the game surprisingly seems to handle this correctly, i've been sequence-breaking like mad and even when I thought i had flush the game down the shitter everything worked out in the end. it's a constant source of anxiety, tho.

Hope so , its also a source of anxiety , i am keeping batch of saves in case something goes wrong .

Just passed the first 20 hours with D:OS.

This is just the most awesome RPG ever. I enjoy it even more than BG2. It is not without flaws, but I am sure they will be fixed in due time.

Larian is going to have to pay for my new glasses. Their "find a wee tiny switch on a wall" is driving me mad.
Serpent Isle is much worse

FYI that's not Serpent Isle. It's the first Dark Sun.

On the outside it looks like a really nice game! And when you start playin it you get the same feeling, until you go into combat! Because this aint like no other game i've tried in a long time, because you shift turns attacking! This totally ruins it for me, im tryin to play a game but its more like a game of cards or maybe like the game Heroes in a bad way!!

0/10

My favorite thing about Metacritic user reviews is the scores never make any sense. Even when the criticism it's valid, people either pick a 0 or a 10. There's no in between, the scores never reflect the actual content of the review. "It's a good game but I didn't like this minor thing, 0/10." "Well, it has some flaws, but I like it, 10/10."

I guess even amateurs gotta game the system.

I would chop my dick off and donate it to a ftm tranny if Obsidian would license D:OS engine and make Icewind Dale III

Beside crafting (two nails together, or hammer and nine inch nail), you can buy them from the enchantress on the marketplace or the rogue trader on the second floor of the inn (Cyseal).

30 hours in, still roaming around the first area of the game. It feels good to have no social life again.

few thoughts:

- hmm game definitely needs more Gothic style approach to homeowners. Npcs do not wander in their houses (beside very few) and even if you pick a lock and go into their private room they do nothing. I think in sequel they should work on this aspect. In Gothic you couldn't just walk into someone house or into private chambers and steal stuff. You had to actually avoid being seen and NPC didn't like you trying to go into someones house.

- Day night cycle for sequel should be obvious.

- For stealing they should approach in Skyrim like manner. You can steal stuff but people will connect dots sooner or later if you will steal a lot of stuff from them. Bonus points would be if for example NPC would hire guards after something was stolen from them.

- Also it would be lovely if they would come up with AI routines tool that would work like paint. You would paint routines for different NPCs on ground. For example Inn owner would have (all painted on AI pathfinding grid):

red paint - shopper routine - paint near bar - NPC using red routine has barter option
Blue - home routine - pain his room in inn - NPC using blue routine uses randomly objects in blue painted space like seats, bed only if time is right.

Guard would have for example a bit different routine

yellow paint - guard post - he will stand here and won't move
green paint - patrol area - Npc will randomly select route in green painted area
blue - his bed in barracs

NPCs would choose which routine paint fallow depending on game time. Night ? Blue one, morning ? afternoon ? yellow one and so on.

With such tool it would be possible to give routines for every npc in Cyseal in matter of hours instead of manually scripting stuff. They already have AI tool for pathfinding and such thing probably could work based on that pathfinding tool.
