Dishonored number 1 here also, live in Norway. Is those lists region based? won't think they are based on country?

It's a best selling AAA title that is actually good, but with a discount and all DLCs together. The point is, will D:OS get back to #1 after this sale?

Great to see this game getting some real recognition from the unwashed masses. A new golden age of RPGs may be upon us indeed.

Ugh, Wolfenstein The New Popamole is #1.
I wish we could bomb zenimax. Anybody up for a kickstarter?

Why the hell do we care, when it's absolute sales numbers that matter to Larian?

Because this is essentially harbinger of change. It means that Larian will continue incline releasing new RPGs in future.
This also can mean good things for other developers like Obsidian.

The more quality RPGs will sell the more titles we will see in direct future, possibly fueling RPG incline for years and creating RPG audience that will sustain proper RPGs for years.

Same here, but it has just slipped to 2nd place a few hours ago. When I checked in the afternoon, it was still No1. I guess the Quakecon sales helped Wolfenstein a lot.

Started a new Witch+Shadowblade run yesterday and slowly progresing in Cysial. I'm getting used to crafting (although I don't like it), but I hope Larian will introduce a crafting menu. It should just list the recipes you have found, and when you click on one, you see what are the ingredients, and which ones do you have in your inventory. Then you click the craft button, and voila, you have the item. It would be much more convenient.

Only reason why D:OS is at #2 right know is because Gaben is running a popamole sale for a few days. Now Wolfenstein is up on sale and is #1. Dishonored sale ended and it plunged to the depths

People bragging like this game is gonna bring some silly new wave. The game has sold like 250k. Come talk to em when it reaches MILLIONS. FFS The 'unwashed' masses don't give a fuck about it. FFS Previous larian games have sold mililon+ copies. FFS

250k in two weeks is much better than 0 in last 10 years. IT is safe to assume that DOS will reach 1mln+ LTD which will mean that DOS2 will easily brake 1mln+ in its first week or two because that is how popularity works. People who loved DOS will look for other games from this genre and since they are accustomed to isometric camera they won't scratch off games like PoE from their list for it.

Essentially it means the more quality RPGs there will be produced the bigger userbase will became and it don't mean that games need to sell 5mln+. It means that games needs to sell as much as to cover for their next game and bring reasonable profit to companies making them so people who create that stuff will be motivated to create stuff with best of their abilities.

It is self propelled mechanism which was responsible for golden era of RPGs in 90-2004 same as few good FPS started era of FPS games in same era.

Nobody cares about the damned unwashed masses. Larian broke even, even made some good profit while doing something they liked for the target audience they wanted. That's good. Now, hopefully, they'll be able to do it some more.

250k with no publisher is actually very, very good. Think about it. If a publisher lets you reach 100k sales but takes 50% of your profits, then 250k sales is equivalent to 500k sales w/ a publisher.

How about he would let you work on second project with no royalties or profits from sold game, artificially looking holes to not pay you for milestone reaached and buying your company when you will finally go out of budget.
That is how Zenimax works, EA and few other publishers.

Rule of thumb is that you get as much as you put your own money. No own money put = shitty deal. Assuming we are talking about normal developer and not for exaple Bungie which could negotiate deal what they want.
